Technology used to control crippled people?

Has anyone ever heard of a technology that is used to control crippled people? And if you have what agency does it?

What do you mean control?
Do you mean more advanced wheelchairs?
Or thought controlled wheel chairs and other technology?

I mean microimplants that allow you to actually remotely control a crippled person who cannot take care of themselves.

If they're crippled what good would it do trying to control them?
