‘Minority Report’ technology used by police to predict crimes

Software that can predict when and where future violent crimes will be committed is being used in Britain for the first time.

Two police forces have begun trialling the sophisticated programme, which has echoes of the Tom Cruise film Minority Report, where psychics are used to stop criminals before they commit a crime.

The system, known as Crush (Criminal Reduction Utilising Statistical History) evaluates crime records, intelligence briefings, offender profiles and even weather reports, to identify potential flashpoints where a crime is most likely to occur.

The “predictive analytics” technology has been credited as a key factor behind a 31 per cent fall in crime and 15 per cent drop in violent crime in Memphis, Tennessee, according to The Observer.

The software has been developed by IBM which has invested $11 billion in analytics over the past four years.

So soon we are going to start seeing a "Pre-Crime Unit" similar in some ways to that of the movie by Tom Cruise.

We have also had threads that governments like the U.S. want to implement software that can read your intentions "trying to stop any crime before it occurs".

First of all I want to make clear that I am no criminal, and have never been convicted or even accused of any crimes, but imo this is a very bad idea.

What happens with people who just get normally nervous? or those who are rushing trying to catch the next flight? These people are going to be sweating, not to mention in a hurry and might show movements which might be considered by this kind of software as signs of a possible "terrorist".

The elites are implementing more and more controls, as well as trying to keep us scared so they can keep their firm hold on us, and to me that's their main goal.

Things are really out of hand and we are all allowing this to continue, and if we do nothing about it soon it will be too late.

People should show this sort of things to their friends, family, and everyone you know and tell them totell very clear to your Senators, representatives, PM/Presidents etc that we do not want this.

There are too many loopholes in this sort of technology and innocent people can be labelled as "criminals/terrorists"...
