Legal defense fund created to support AZ border Sheriffs

A non-partisan, non-profit legal defense fund has been established
to assist Arizona county sheriffs Paul Babeu and Larry Dever defend
themselves against pro-amnesty interest groups and federal government
lawsuits filed to prevent Arizona law enforcement officials from implementing
SB 1070, Arizona's new illegal immigration law, and to explore potential
counter-litigation.

So what is the purpose or need for a Federal
Government if they cannot keep us protected???

I urge everyone that can, to donate funds
to help.

Wish I could help, as that is a noble cause. It's sad that AZ has to fend for themselves since the govt has abandoned them. I think that once they get the ball rolling, they should seceede as a show of contempt for their own rulers. GO AZ!

ur right except
I think ALL states should secede
as the illegals are just gonna move
out of AZ to another state.

You have GOT to be kidding!? You're actually urging people to donate???

What the hell are taxes for??? This is WAAAYYYYY over the top.

Yes, I TOTALLY get the political ramifications here, but while I AM empathetic, in a word NO.

Yes I am, that is something most anybody can do
to help the border war and they don't have to pick
up a weapon and travel to AZ. And it is legal.

The taxes collected are being used for some other
expense by the Federal Government other than
border security. Therefore AZ Law Enforcement
have to fund themselves as the Feds won't help.
I guess the Federal Government would rather
Police Iraq and Afghanistan than Police our own
border.

out gunned in america! land of the gun! i agree with the dude above this is why you pay taxes. and if your not getting what you pay for then maybe you shoald all stop paying until they buck their idea's up. im sure if the problems as bad as its been made out to be in az then it wouldnt be that hard to convince a large portion of citizens to stop paying taxes in protest. im sure they'd soon start trying to solve the border situation when all that money stops flowing.

Near the end of the news report, one LEO encourages BO to come see it for himself. I could just imagine how that conversation in the Oval Orrifice would go down.

BO "I think I need to go check into this smuggling issue on the border. Its got a lot of people worked up and is a hot topic right now"

Chief of Staff "Um, no sir, I dont think that is a good idea at all."

BO "Why not? I need to show them that we are looking at both sides of this."

CoS "Sir, you could be killed. The cartels down there outman and are better armed than we can possibly protect you from."

BO "Well, thats true."

Both chuckle knowingly.

-----------------------

As to donating to help them gear up, I am all for it. I realize that state and federal tax dollars are supposed to be helping protect and insure security of the US Borders, but they arent spending it that way. They are chastising BP Agents for shooting in self defense, refusing to send in the military, and suing the state for a legal act of self-preservation.

Screw the gov't, they aint here to help. I say give what you can. Every dollar going towards weapons, ammo and armor is a dollar well spent.

And here is my reply: RE- APPROPRIATION

They have hundreds of thousands of dollars at their disposal, as a state.

Let them make a REAL statement with their money. THAT will get attention like nothing else.

Begging the overtaxed public for funds? PUH-LEEEEZE!

I admire the cause, but now is the time for the state of Arizona to make a serious statement to the Feds.

Money talks and bullsh!t walks.

I doubt it
they will just print out of thin air what they need
to sustain their agenda.

what you seem to be forgetting is that AZ is fighting
for ALL of America at the border and is only getting
tax money from AZ citizens. So people from all
over America should help pay for this security.
You can do this with donations. It's almost impossible
to fight a national war on a state budget.

Are you trying to say that AZ should print
it's own money ????

If so, then I do agree
however a lil thing called
secession comes first.

Traveling often in that area I know there has been huge numbers of new border patrol in S. Arizona in the last 5 years or so with sheriff departments and local municipal law enforcement agencies, even highway patrol involved as well. They make quite a bit of money back auctioning off vehicles and other resources seized from UDAs, illegal traffickers etc. so they all want a piece of it and you can imagine there may be some corruption involved but the need has increased so dramatically that they can't keep up.

Do you think these agencies shake down every UDA for the money in their pockets and give it back to them or report it and inventory it? Trouble, trouble, trouble. Some of them travel with quite a bit of money. Some are crossing illegally just to visit family who are US citizens on the other side for family emergencies etc. or other reasons they cannot get the paper work together to visit.

I agree completely with those here who say it is a Federal responsibility and they are failing. Can you see the potential for corruption though when so many agencies are involved and they all want a piece of it?

fair point. whatever happened to military industrial complex I'm surprised there's not weapons companies climbing over each other to give AZ weapons now pay later with interest. you could always go gorilla with ieds and acquiring the enemy's weapons and am munitions as you kill or capture. i suggest everyone in az get a copy of Che Guevara's guerrilla warfare and some military field mauls and maybe the poor mans James bond. make do with what you've got.

No, I'm not forgetting that... but obviously, the federal government has.

I say again, re-appropriation. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If Arizona, as a state, doesn't properly submit to the King (I jest) what belongs to the King, THAT is making a statement.

Can you imagine what sort of press this administration would get if this happened and they complained? The donations you are suggesting can be likened to the false propping up of the stock market. Let the chips fall. Arizona will not. I mean, seriously...can you see it in the news?? "US concedes territory to Mexico" That is crazy! It will NEVER happen.

Please understand. This is NOTHING against you personally, but the idea you are promoting just disgusts me.

I have no clue how you can compare
border security to wall street bail outs.
You're not seeing these local sheriffs
raising their salaries by the millions
or making millions in bonuses.
That comparison is completely
ludicrous IMO.

And no I am not offended

You are completely correct in your statement. I was referring to the OTHER end. The end that keeps going despite the fact that it should have failed. If a US state becomes dependent on PRIVATE funds to keep it's national border with Mexico, the the US DESERVES to lose that state.

Do I think Arizona should go to Mexico in any way, shape or form? NO!

Do I think the Federal Government should be embarrassed into funding this issue? Hell YES!

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about.
