Embedding videos that arent google or yt?

I just have a quick question... how do I embed a video from some place other then google or youtube? Or if I upload a video to this site what are the steps taken then? Can someone give me the abc's to this please in embedding for dummies!?

Great question!

I now put the share code (I think is what it is called) and identify it as such-asking people to go to the main link for the video (and additonal info etc).

(I think I know the answer but I'll wait to see what someone who actually knows responds with).
