WikiLeaks Data Seem to Show Pakistan Helped Attack American Troops

Reports The Times: “Taken together, the reports indicate that American soldiers on the ground are inundated with accounts of a network of Pakistani assets and collaborators that runs from the Pakistani tribal belt along the Afghan border, through southern Afghanistan, and all the way to the capital, Kabul. . . . “The reports suggest, however, that the Pakistani military has acted as both ally and enemy, as its spy agency runs what American officials have long suspected is a double game — appeasing certain American demands for cooperation while angling to exert influence in Afghanistan through many of the same insurgent networks that the Americans are fighting to eliminate.” The Washington Post, grumpy no doubt that Wikileaks didn’t give it preferred access to the data, has its own report that quotes an Obama administration official thusly: “The key thing to bear in mind is that the administration is not naive about Pakistan. The problem with the Pakistanis is that the more you threaten them, the more they become entrenched and don’t see a path forward with you.”

I live in the worst country in the world, the United States is a pos! The government should stay the F out of the commanding officer over the wars business, how can Borrack Obama have tea with his family and then lead the military! Its a sloppy mess, war is war, there are going to be civilian lives lost so what? The general puplic like those here in ATS should stfu to unless they understand how frustrating it is to fight a war with strict rules and not knowing who is your friend and who is you enemy, to many American lives have been lost due to these rules.

I really think we should have 100 more threads on this, or better yet, why not have a dedicated wikileaks forum on ATS?

Maybe change the site logo to Wiki-ATS-Leaks?

Borrack Obamas job should only be to say wether or not we can engage into war, after that its up to the commanding officer to make sure everything gets done with the least amount of American lives lost, its like having two commanders and they both have a difference in opinions, its going to mess up our plans over there, we would be home already if it wernt for Borrack Obamas sorry azz.
The real might of our country lies withing the men and woman who risk their lives on a daily basis every day, not in how Obama wants to run the counrty, and for him to fire the greatest general the us military had is a slap in the face. There needs to be a serious change in the way the government thinks its ok to over see the war in afghanistan, that's what his five star general is for (government facepalm)

The Pakistani ISI has been helping the Taliban from day one, when they came to power in the mid 90's. It's nothing new. It was well chronicled in Stephen Coll's book, "Ghost Wars".

Pakistan has always fundementalist elements (especially the ISI) in it's government that had it's own agenda for Afghanistan, a fundamentalist Islamic regime.

Let us not forget that these mujaheddin were funded and trained by the god damned CIA since the very inception. The Taliban, CIA, ISI and the govt were back slapping buddies back then along with OSBL.
