just so you know my half brother lived in Germany, stayed long enough to serve the required 2 years active duty thought it was the best 2 years ever, if they can do it why not US, or are you not for home land? and if it was a Bush plan would you be for it then? and if you want to read title iv and v (that is 4 and 5) of the "PATRIOT ACT". shed light on darkness and the darkness is not so frightening.

I've already done 13 years of forced labor in the school system. I also did forced government labor on a regular basis just like everybody else. Income taxes means that I work 35% to 55% of my labor for the government. That is 20 or so years of forced labor I'll be doing for the US government. So, if they want to have me to do two more years, I'll probably do two more.

The idea that slavery isn't happening right now is ridiculous. Just because our masters beat the crap out of us less than they used to doesn't mean we are not slaves now.

People who talk about firing shots should put things in perspective. If they are waiting for the last shred of freedom we have before they start getting active then they are waiting too long.

Personally I can say I'm doing my part to restore a little bit of sanity to America and it does not involve firing any shots since that is the worst possible method of getting freedom back. I recommend people look into Seasteading and the Free State Project for ideas on what they can do.

No offense taken. I apprecite your candor and sensitive approach.

However, we live in a society where TV and Video games rule our lives. We need to be more aware of the world's issues, yet we are blind due to our digressive behavior towards things that are of no matter. We as a country need to wake up and take a great big bright eyed look at what is going on outside our contiguous United States.

It's scary and it is very real. We have no Americanism (pride) anymore. We need to evaluate what it is to be a freedom loving country. Most of us are blind.

No.....I am not looking for a Stalinism or a Chinese style of dictatorship, nor do I wish to brain wash people into my own paradigms. I'm simply saying as a whole, Americans are brain washed by consumerism and not what is really going on in the world. We are spoiled brats on the verge of Armageddon.

I took the liberty of translating your original post here, into a more suitably realistic posting.

We as a country need to wake up and take a great big bright eyed look at what is going on inside our own contiguous United States.

It's scary and it is very real. We have too much (false) Americanism (pride). We need to evaluate what it is to be a freedom loving country. Most of us are blind.

I am looking for a Stalinism, Chinese or Fourth Reich style of dictatorship, and I wish to brainwash people into my own paradigms, in loving support of my Führer, whoever he may be at the time. I'm simply saying as a whole, Americans are brainwashed by our government, and it's loyal brainwashed shill slaves choose not to accept what is really going on in the world. We are a modern Nazi Germany, on the verge of starting World War 3; not so gracefully killing our entire nation, and most of it's populace, in the process.

Boy, am I going to get flamed for this. When I was stationed in West Germany (at the time) I had several german friends. One explained to me that upon graduating from high school. Each young man had to make a choice. 1) Go to college. 2) Go to trade school and get in an apprentice program. 3) Spend two years in the military.

im not sure if that used to be so but i know it isnt like that now.

all german males have to do time..either in the army or a social position...hospital..red cross..old peoples home...etc..

its been reduced to 6 months i think and theres a discussion going on right now to scrap it completely.

now...germany pay more than anyone each month for their social state...40% approx...40%!!!!...and some people are saying without this slave labour the social system will collapse...so i have to ask...where is all this money going?

Yes, in an individual, where you yourself are the only one suffering. Oh well, the line for me is like 10 yards behind me, I am just waiting for the rest of the people to realize there line is behind them also.

They just keep putting these fake lines in the sand and everyone keeps getting fooled.

The same old excuse by the same people who are either too dumbed down, or too ignorant to realize what they are saying....

Such people ALWAYS want to claim "BUT IT IS FOR THE GOOD OF THE CHILDREN, AND TO HELP EACH OTHER EVEN IF WE ARE FORCED".... but as "William Pitt said... "Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves."

Another very telling quote was made by H. L. Mencken
"The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule."

But hey "IT IS TO HELP EACH OTHER EVEN IF WE ARE BEING FORCED, and THINK OF THE CHILDREN"....

Yeah Think of the children's FREEDOM, and your freedom when you GET TO CHOOSE instead of BEING FORCED.... but again, this is a notion that for some reason seems to escape a lot of people...

Are you a person or a human being?

Legal definitions are rather eye opening. I wouldn't worry about this. Serve a claim of right and notice of understanding to sort it out

Over my dead body. This is why my wife and I are gypsies. Good luck forcing us or our children into the military. =)

Can someone please point out to me where the Bush/Cheney nightmare ended and the ObamaNation nightmare began?

What surprises me is that some young people actually think this is a good thing. Aren't you able to read between the lines? This is a back-door mandatory military draft.

WOW, thanks for posting that. S&F. Believe it or not, I predicted it and told that to my family and friends, nobody wanted to believe me. It's common sense, with all these wars we will run short of soldiers. China, North Korea and extremist muslims together are too many. This law means that a "Big One" is coming, many fronts at the same time.

I am too old for service, but I am ready to do my best for this land. God Bless America.

I didn't see the majority fighting back against Bush when he entered us into two illegal wars, the Patriot Act, illegal wire tapping, illegal torture, etc., etc.. What makes you think people will rise up and fight against this bill?

Seriously though, neocons have been trying to scare Americans with this BS bill since Obama first came into the political ring. Face it, if the Bush (Cheney) administration wasn't enough of a political superpower to thrust America into a dictatorship, then there would be no hope for a black socialist to do so. If Obama really did try to endorse this bill, he would only be signing his own death warrant.

Lets hope we can put this to rest.

I don't think it will get anywhere soon...As already pointed out, Bills like this tend to hang around for a long time, just waiting for an event (accidental or engineered) that would trigger a public outcry. Even the socialist Health Care that Clinton tried to push had existed before his term...What we're seeing today from the Obama cartel is simply a modified/updated version of it.

No, the real problem is not putting it down, but the trouble is keeping it down...BS like this keeps rising back up like a Hollywood B-Grade movie zombie.

So they are getting everything ready.

There are no mere plans anymore, but actions are being taken to carry out their plans.

I think the govt know they are lacking the personel to fight another war with Iran and possibly north korea. This bill has a very good chance to pass.

What is so bad about that?We used to have mandatory service as well.
1 Year in the army(no pay), unless you had medical problems you were not allowed to join.

Interesting. I've been saying for the past year that it wouldn't surprise me if the US (and possibly other countries) reinstate the draft and there's only one plausible motive for that, in my opinion: another World War. An attack on Iran is imminent and I am afraid it will very quickly worsen.

The US military is already stretched too thin, another full-scale war, because that's what it eventually will develop into, will require mandatory service.

Hey, they use to kidnap people in the cities and for conscription on ships.

Hey, during the civil war they rounded up thousands upon thousands in New York city to feed into the war machine.

Hey, back in the day King George use to force conscription into the military.

Hey, this is the united States of America where slavery is not looked as a good thing.

Hey, England's health care system is great and there is nothing wrong with it. How many times did we have to listen to that over the past year and a half. Now come to find out your system is collapsing. Now people are going to say we should emulate the slavery in your systems. Pfffft!

I skipped through after the OP, but this is a joke. I have no problem serving time for my country, as along as my country serves time for me. I will not go to war under our current administration. They have lost sight of the objective. They are treading weter and are very tired. Those steel toed, leather boots don't make it easy to tread water. I'm sure you have all heard it before but, why do they always send the poor? Have you ever heard a rich man on the battlefield, maybe few and far between. They wouldn't last long anyway.

It wouldn't be such a bad idea if we weren't in a war that I didn't agree with. But since this war is something I am animately against I wouldn't support the government in anyway. How about this; stop the war, stop the crazy spending, get rid of invasive foreign policy and I may consider it. Until then I will never accept a draft
