Show me a point in history, where a major country in the world was taken over in a peaceful revolution. Just one, I'll be happy. You can't count the Soviet Union, the tanks actually did fire at the government buildings.

When did we go from talking about fighting a bully to full on revolution. Any country that has gotten to the point that a revolution is needed it is long past the need for violence, or at the very least the threat of violence.

It is not impossible to fight the Federal bully from within the system, but as I already acknowledged, we're probably past that.

May I ask if there is a specific bully you refer to? Because the only one I see is the government that this and any other bill like this would force me to serve.

But you still refuse to tell me how this is something new? Rangel has submitted this bill half a dozen times or more.

When did I say it was new? I've only questioned people's wish to force service on people in this thread.

Where were you when Rangel submitted it 3 or 4 times on Bush's watch?

Not on ATS yet.

Not that I'm a Republican, or a "conservative" for that matter, but I have to admit, when Rangel proposed this during the Bush Administration, there wasn't a chance of hell of it passing. With Obama, all cards are thrown to the wind. Who knows what he will be willing to pass? It keeps getting more and more radical every day. If a bill came up the line to take all the blue out of the American flag, and change it to all red, I would not be shocked if he signed it. Bush was stupid, yet most of the time predictable. Obama is a serious loose cannon, who could fire at any moment in any direction. Thank God for change, right?

How about some evidence? Lets see the bills and what they encompass. Do you know what your party voted for today? is it good for you or bad? Do you care, as long as it was'nt the Republican's idea? WAKE UP.

I've provided the evidence that the constitution ABSOLUTELY dictates you and I can be called up for service without our permission.

It's in the darned constitution! Yet, you never cared until Rangle introduced a draft bill on Obama's watch even though he introduced it many times on Bush's watch.

So why are you concerned now? Are you in your late teens?

I have no respect for youngsters and non voters when they refuse to look at the entire history. You guys want this to be a new Obama thing but it's not. You only care because it's on Obama's watch. You never cared when it was on Bush's watch, or Kennedy's watch, or Roosevelts watch or the founding daddies watch.

I mean really, you simply didn't care as long as the bubble was still growing. Your greed and glutinous living has made you guys disgruntled.

There is nothing wrong with serving unless you're scared to serve.

Are you afraid to serve? Just like Bush and Cheney and the rest?

If we're youngsters how were we supposed to care about it happening when Kennedy and Roosevelt were in office?

Your preaching and multitude of assumptions are unbecoming anyone of intelligence.

Your signature seems fitting though.

Never heard of soft militia's.

I got this figured out. They are afraid guys! Afraid of hand to hand combat with other men. They are 3rd degree black belts in keyboarding. If they had to fight another man they would run to the hills.

I get it now. No wonder they don't like this bill that has been submitted half a dozen times before. More than half on Bush's watch.

I know you're afraid. Personally, I only want real men standing point. Not soft militias.

The constitution meant, If we were at war, and in desperate need of troops, against a foreign enemy who meant to overthrow us, then as an American citizen it is my Responsibility to help to defend our nation. This has nothing to do with being forced to serve beans to the needy for a two year period, under a socialist dictator's rule. I will "Volunteer" to kill any and all foreign enemies who try to destroy our nation. I will not allow anybody to forcefully take two years out of my life to serve and help those that have not put in the effort that I have. Sorry, already work 70 hours a week helping myself. How about I spend two years "leading by example"? Socialists are all the same. Get to work, your country needs your labor, not your excuses.

Where?

I don't recall questioning your manhood or accusing you of greed and gluttonous living.

None of the 101st Keyboarding Battalion would dare to do this.

Real Men and not Soft Militias

You didn't read Rangel's bill did you? It clearly says during a time of war.

Honestly, this is something Rangel's been plugging for about 4 or 5 years and it's never going to go anywhere. No conspiracy here--and the backlash from a forced draft or national service would be so large that I think it has the possibility to start a second revolution. Even though I am a liberal, I sure as hell wouldn't be signing up to serve our country--too many lies in our government.
