your rights come from mearly being created? from being born? tell that to nature which doesnt care if you live or die. even in nature you must fight for your right to even live. again, your rights are based on how much you are willing to fight for them.

the constitution said slavery was cool at one point. it took guns and violence for the rights of man (i.e. white men) to be granted equally to all.

this bill doesnt call for slavery, as you will get paid for your service. it calls for you to give back to your country rather than continue to take from it. people complain about well-fare junkies taking from the state, yet they take all the time in the form of protection via law and the ability to complain. you may say you give by way of taxes, yet you complain about how much you get taxed. many would prefer to pay no tax at all. you want everything for nothing.

if your not willing to support the country and give a little for all that it gives to you, then your nothing but a spoiled child that deserves a good whipping.

No it's not getting old. People were told before-hand that Obama was in-fact the most liberal minded member of the entire Senate. People are apathetic, they didn't do their research, and now they pay the price. The more it is said, and said, and said the better. It will teach the sheep to hopefully do their homework before they vote. Just out of curiosity what specific point made you vote for him? or was it just the promise of "change"?

Obama's worshipers have no one else to blame but themselves. Maybe some pain will be a good thing. It will teach people to think before voting.

You know not only is this little ditty getting old, but it doesn't have a firm leg to stand on. It's like saying - 'Wow, all you who voted for Obama should kick yourselves in the butt because you were not ---> PSYCHIC!'

People were lied to. Mislead. Baldfaced lied to. I'm not going to kick them in the teeth for having HOPE. Especially after the Bush fiasco.

If a friend of yours took their ailing infant to a doctor, believed in what the doctor said, but the child died anyway, would you tell your friend 'Hey, you get what you deserve for believing that doctor?'...

Well I hope you wouldn't.

The same applies.

ON TOPIC with serving the Government - if people would put their fear of accountability by the wayside for a moment you might see this probably would be the greatest thing that could happen to the 'youth' of the USA.

In my opinion most kids are completely out of control, out of touch and need something to give them a little backbone, some personal satisfaction in a job well done (even if they're forced to do it) and some PRIDE in themselves. Something lacking overall in today youth, IMO.

I really believe you'd see a huge change in the young people of America if this 'service' were implemented.

peace

This is the kind of nonsense I'm talking about. Please explain to the board how one man can change things?

He needs Congress to help him. The GOP has been obstructing this man from day one. He can't write laws! What can a president do besides what congress says?

You want forced "giving back"; move to Europe.

You want a free nation that respects the rights of Free humans to CHOOSE when and how to serve; you are welcome to stay.

Have you read PPD 51

Under it and during an emergency the president can do whatever he chooses. under the old rules congress could not review the actions for 6 months, PPD 51 says never.

Bush pased that.

No he can't write laws, though he in the long run, is the only person who can sign them. It's simple, the Chicago mafia has moved into the Whitehouse. If you are in congress or the senate, and you disagree with the president for the next two years, not only do you have to worry about your job, you should probably worry about your safety.

Rangel does this every year. Has done for some time. It's propaganda that he thinks somehow will make the Republicans look bad and I don't think anyone understands his logic in this. Never gets any votes, even from him I don't think.

He is about to be in major trouble himself. He has been caught in some ethics violations, some of which are crimes.

66 flags on a non-story like this? Anyone who follows the news, knows about Rangel and his annual submission of this Bill. If you don't, please don't vote.
You are not qualified to vote.

While different in theory, in practicality it's essentially a form of socialism in which the rhetoric is more focused on the culture of the dominant people rather than the entirety of the state like say the soviet union or China is like.

This is not NEW! Where were you during the writing of the constitution which states the government has the ABSOLUTE right to force people to join a conscription?

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

They already can force you into military service if they so choose.

They are not getting it Blaine. They think this is something new but it's been around for 234 years.

It's Obama just trying to enslave them. These fools yell at the top of the lungs about their rights but they don't even understand what their rights are.

Hardly.

Just because you can stoop to name-calling and either don't or refuse to understand the difference between having and defending a right doesn't mean those rights are based on violence.

Rights are based on the idea that every human being is equal. If everyone respected those rights there would be no violence in the world. You're notion that military force gives me my rights is a fool notion. There are no dictatorships banging on my door other than the one in DC and the military is over seas. Mandatory service of the government that IS the problem is not positive for anyone's rights.

Rights come from wisdom, intelligence and humanity. If you think violence and military service is the only answer then you have probably lost yours.

Thank you

For me, facism is simply bending over for a corrupt government, to extend it's power, because you might get a cookie. I know, not fit for the dictonary.

err no.

it doesn't say to "enslave and conscript" it says "raise and support"

the 13th amendment then goes on to make it clear that slavery is unconstitutional.

Your logic is way flawed though. A democratic process elected Obama. So if they elected a fascist then that's what the people wanted correct?

Oh let me guess, he lied to us right? How did he lie? All this man has done was sign legislation that he promised he would do when he was running. The man is sticking to his agenda that WE ALL knew about when he was running.

There is nothing new here.
