Here is the Obama national security force.

To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.

Well read on it gets worse.

SEC. 102. NATIONAL SERVICE OBLIGATION.

(a) Obligation for Service- It is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of national service as prescribed in this title unless exempted under the provisions of this title.

Slavery to Government

SEC. 104. TWO-YEAR PERIOD OF NATIONAL SERVICE.

(a) General Rule- Except as otherwise provided in this section, the period of national service performed by a person under this title shall be two years.
(b) Grounds for Extension- At the discretion of the President, the period of military service for a member of the uniformed services under this title may be extended--

(1) with the consent of the member, for the purpose of furnishing hospitalization, medical, or surgical care for injury or illness incurred in line of duty; or
(2) for the purpose of requiring the member to compensate for any time lost to training for any cause.

Government Slave for 2 years? You have got to be kidding me.

SEC. 105. IMPLEMENTATION BY THE PRESIDENT.

(a) In General- The President shall prescribe such regulations as are necessary to carry out this title.

The President will make this up as he goes? Didn't the NAZI's do this same crap?

SEC. 106. EXAMINATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF PERSONS.

(a) Examination- Every person subject to induction under this title shall, before induction, be physically and mentally examined and shall be classified as to fitness to perform national service.
(b) Different Classification Standards- The President may apply different classification standards for fitness for military service and fitness for civilian service.

I cannot believe that those idiots in DC would even think about passing this. If they pass this Shots will be fired.

I would add more thoughts but now is not the time as I am about to expload in anger.

I will not Comply, I will Fight Back.

Its simple really, people will not go for a pinch of this unless there are nuclear attacks on all major cities in the U.S or something else equally devastating. Otherwise...

I have a hunch though that these executive orders and resolutions are not meant to be implemented in this administration or even the next. This will fade and 10-20 years from now...down comes the sledge hammer.

Why so concerned about Charles Rangel draft proposal?

He has been proposing something similar for I don't know how long.

July 15, 2010
Congressman Rangel Reintroduces Bill To Reinstate Military Draft
WASHINGTON - Congressman Charles Rangel on Thursday introduced H.R. 5741, a bill that would reinstate a compulsory military draft, or alternative national service, during times of war, for men and women, aged 18 to 42, who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States."What troubles me most about the …more

rangel.house.gov...

From an article

For the third time since the Iraq War began, the Harlem Democrat announced his plans to introduce a bill requiring all Americans to serve in the armed forces.

"If you love your country, be prepared to serve," said Rangel, a Korean War veteran.

Congress should stop funding the war and, instead, use tax dollars to bring troops home, he said.

I am going to add this section-

(a) Induction Requirements- The President shall provide for the induction of persons described in section 102(a) to perform their national service obligation.

(b) Limitation on Induction for Military Service- Persons described in section 102(a) may be inducted to perform military service only if--

(1) a declaration of war is in effect;

(2) the President declares a national emergency, which the President determines necessitates the induction of persons to perform military service, and immediately informs Congress of the reasons for the declaration and the need to induct persons for military service; or

(3) members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps are engaged in a contingency operation pursuant to a congressional authorization for the use of military force.

(c) Limitation on Number of Persons Inducted for Military Service- When the induction of persons for military service is authorized by subsection (b), the President shall determine the number of persons described in section 102(a) whose national service obligation is to be satisfied through military service based on--

(1) the authorized end strengths of the uniformed services;

(2) the feasibility of the uniformed services to recruit sufficient volunteers to achieve such end-strength levels; and

(3) provide a mechanism for the random selection of persons to be inducted to perform military service.

(d) Selection for Induction-

(1) RANDOM SELECTION FOR MILITARY SERVICE- When the induction of persons for military service is authorized by subsection (b), the President shall utilize a mechanism for the random selection of persons to be inducted to perform military service.

(2) CIVILIAN SERVICE- Persons described in section 102(a) who do not volunteer to perform military service or are not inducted for military service shall perform their national service obligation in a civilian capacity pursuant to section 102(b)(2).

(e) Voluntary Service- A person subject to induction under this title may--

(1) volunteer to perform national service in lieu of being inducted; or

(2) request permission to be inducted at a time other than the time at which the person is otherwise called for induction.

Is this a newer form of draft? Or just a new presidential SS? Random, right. They will randomly choose people like some polls randomly choose people.

Now, who will be exempt?

Anyone in government service I am sure.

S&F I agree, this is a deal breaker.
No worries though, we have safeguards in place for tyranny.

Well, I guess that I'm glad I already served my time in the armed forces.

I don't think military service of any kind should be forced upon anyone. I don't think that would even be good for the military to have people that didn't want to serve.

Exactly. Not only at the fact that this bill was proposed during the Bush administration, who knows how many bills there had been put forward are in a similar manner over the years. There have been similar bills put forward regarding the regulation of sex and porn, alchohol prohibition, mandatory christmas carols played in schools. This is nothing new, neither will it get anywhere.

I believe there may be a distinction between Rangel's draft ideas and the Obama-era "public service".

From what I understand, Rangel wants to implement the draft slimier to the Vietnam draft but this new bill doesn't specify the limits of the duties that would be performed. That's what scares me!

volunteer public service = good for the community

mandatory public service = forced labor

Lets hope we can put this to rest.

Thank you for your service.

I don't think any form of government has the right to force anyone into invonentary servitude ( aka Slavery )

I actually hope they pass this so we can get the show on the road and water the tree of liberty.

If this were passed, do you think Americans would finally stand up and refuse to participate?

Or would it end up being like Vietnam where we protested, but never made a real change to the system?

Wow, what an eye opener. Sounds like everyone in that age demographic will get training on how to be 'a good neighbor' and spy on everyone in the neighborhood, along with re-educating the masses to love their govie. Besides, if so many people are in the ObaMalitia, there will be less citizens to revolt

It would certainly explain the hoaxed unemployment rates in the future, since X amount would be hired, and X amount would be laid off. Less private sector, and more civil sector. And by then we can expect to hear about how we are winning against Oceania, and that we made 642 more tanks today, whilst enjoying our Victory vodka.

As someone else stated, I am glad I already gave the Marine Corps 5 years of my life.
This is all to reminiscent of Nazi Germany and Hitler Youth. This is not a good thing. I can tell you that there is no way I would want someone next to me in battle that did not want to be there. He'll there were times I didn't want the guy who was next to me and he willingly signed up.

Scary stuff we have here. I am only 35 and I think to myself everyday how different this country is since I was a child.

They actually did away with it in the 1780's when they nullified the Declaration with the Foreign GovCorp version of the Constitution (our contract of debt to England)

Boy, am I going to get flamed for this. When I was stationed in West Germany (at the time) I had several german friends. One explained to me that upon graduating from high school. Each young man had to make a choice. 1) Go to college. 2) Go to trade school and get in an apprentice program. 3) Spend two years in the military.
Personally, I thought it was a good idea. What's wrong with getting someone to take accountability for their future instead of being a burden on society.
Now, I don't agree witht the wars that we are in right now. But, I do agree with having a strong military. Again, if you enjoy living in freedom (such as it is) then what is wrong with contributing a little something to that freedom.
The way that our American society stands right now. No one wants to do anything that they don't have to do. Our young people just want to listen to music and play video games. Heaven forbid that they become a productive member of society. I am against big government, but something has to change if we are going to continue to be a viable society.
