Thanks for another simplistic exoteric take on things. It cleanly ignores the esoteric undercurrents that weave throughout world religion and myth, including of course the Bible. As usual. But who knows, maybe in the end it will turn out that the myopic exoteric fundamentalist simpletons are right and all the esoteric mystic wise-men of the ages are wrong. Well then, in that case maybe you shouldn't worry so much about your knee-jerk empathic perceptions and go learn about the comparative way, my foolish stubborn brother. Start with comparative mythology. Mix in comparative religion and last but not least comparative mysticism. After a few years of hard study you might be ready to grok the meaning of the esoteric currents and fit them into your exegesis.

The manuscript evidence is ambiguous, so you should not speak with such absolute certainty.
As I was remarking at the end of the OP, if the number is 616 it can still relate to Nero, who may therefore be seen as a model for the later Beast. I refer you to the relevant paragraphs.
