yeah... i was thinking the words "subterfuge" and "politics" were synonymous.

I would say that yes, absolutely, subterfuge is used in politics -- American and otherwise.

But I think in this case there's a less exciting possibility. VistaPrint offers web hosting, which may very well include an option to have their contacts listed for customers who don't want their personal information posted.

Of course, I wouldn't recommend contributing money to an anonymous person who promises that it'll go to whatever politician they feel best represents anti-liberalism
