It's quite frankly disgusting. If I wanted your religion shoved down my throat, I'd go to YOUR church. Keep it to yourself. The only people I've known that I can say were near their interpretation of 'holy' were the people that DID NOT proselytize, DID NOT quote scripture, and DID NOT behave like a disgusting fundamentlist.

It's people like you that give religion such a bad name - as if it needs any help!!! Surely you can understand this? It's not hard.

I am christian, and that means :

1.- I try to follow Jesus Christ examples.

2.- When I pray, I end saying "In the Name of Jesus Christ, amen".

3.- I believe in the Bible as a guide for mankind.

4.- The crisis that religions are facing now, is part of the prophecies in the Bible and it is suppose to happen.

5.- I am not perfect and many times I do things I shouldn't, but God loves me anyway because He is my Father and He finds the way to make me understand and correct what I did.

6.- If I find someone who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ and God :

a) First, I feel sad for that person but try not to make him or her unconfortable.
b) Second, It is something between that person and God, it's personal.

7.- To stand for my faith, I only need to recognize Jesus as my savior. If the priest, pastor or Pope are the way they are, I am not responsable for them. My faith can't be touched, but it can be tested.

8.- To be Christian doesn't mean I need to be a saint.

9.- I can believe E.T.s visited us since the beginning and sometimes they were called "gods".

10.- I know Jesus is alive and He has the same body He had when He came the first time and I believe in the prophecies of the "Book of Revelations", so I am prepared.

I believe that is probably one of the most non christian things to say.

Number 1: Anyone with the ego to even consider this is absolutely not "Christ like". Iit's one of the seven deadly sins "Vanity".

Number 2: I have never seen a "Christlike" Christian. "Christ like" would mean that you lived by his rules. had no material possessions, never passed judgement, and treated everyone equally.

Number 3: In your topic you have passed judgement on so many people it's uncountable. The complete opposite of what Jesus would have done. He would have immersed himself in the people you have alienated yourself from to, through character and belief alone tried to change their mind on what to believe. Jesus didn't leave anyone out, even all of his disciples when he knew they would be helping to kill him and turn their backs on him...

I volunteer my time when I cane to help, I reads my bible, and I debate it with others, and I love all according to what it was defined as in the Bible. Not some hippie love. Love that desires the best for a person. Sometimes that love means to let a stubborn person learn the hard way when they will not listen to the easy way.

So yea, pretty much I am a real Christians. Sup?

The ignorance and hate expressed in this thread would be breathtaking were it not so dull.

Just a few things off the top of my head after reading some of the preceding, Hitler wasn't a Christian, certainly killed more than a few priests, the Crusades were a defense against Islam, etc etc.

Yes homosexuality is a mental illness if you got a problem with that statement, take it up with the muslims, they're the ones killing you, not us.

The Old Testament doesn't apply to Christians other than as a prelude, New Testament supplants old, got a problem with the Old Testament, take it up with the jews.

I'm sure all you will be very upset in a few years when the Church gets out of the hospital business ("They don't have the right !!!) so maybe you should put down the ho-ho's and the ho's now to maybe keep your fatarses marginally healthy.

So on so forth, gah so boring, listen people are imperfect, accept that and then maybe you can move on to the potty training.

I'm a catholic, I confess the Christ, I think prostitution should be illegal, I believe abortion is a grave sin (I actually don't need the Church for that) I think evolution is a crock, what else? People who say they're christians but not the church going kind, usually aren't much of what they say they are. What else? I don't know pick your poison I could care less, I'm also a member of mensa (well when I get around to sending in the renewal dues).

Really though, you all won, why can't you accept that? Homosexuality is treated as a desirable condition, abortion is promoted, marriage is only for, what exactly?, we're only a few years from porn on network tv, really what a bunch of sore winners.

Why don't you start in with the muslims now? You can start with female genital mutilation. (What is it with these jews and muslims and their need to mutilate the genitals?). Really though, you can start now, right now, go ahead and put the koran in a jar of piss braveheart. No? Not just yet? Oh that's right, I thought that muslim violence was just a smokescreen?

It must be annoying to know that after you've accomplished so much in the marginalization of the church, how you've made mockery of christianity so common, etc etc, it must be annoying to know that someone like me, an educated man with a high intelligence (I think it was 140 maybe 142), someone who's read most of the banned books list and the stoics and has studied the eastern religions, etc etc, appreciateS David Lynch, Kelly Reichhart and the Sex Pistols and the Make-Up and Bach so on so forth, someone like me, who kind of doubts ufos but not entirely, who thinks that many civilizations have preceded, someone like me, rejects someone like you out of hand and reaches out to the Christ.

Thank you, when believing in Allah or God teaches you irrational ideas like stoning women for punishment is ok or that you are not to eat ham even when we have the means to cleanse it, either you believe in the word of the bible, or you only believe some of it, pick and choose the bits you like but expect not to be called a true follower.

Stop teaching our children this junk, messing up their heads, restricticting their individuality, abolishing freedom of the way they choose to live live and also diluding their minds.

First, Can anyone give me an explanation of what a true christian is? l was always led to believe that God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for us to live by. As a child l thought these laws were pretty good. Now l am so very much older l have come to the conclusion that most christians dont give a hoot about the commandments, except when it suits them, and then cant stop quoting them at you. Seeing soldiers with kill lraqis on their helmets while the army chaplin stands waiting for the troops to return from their killing sprees to condone their missions dont quite cut it for me. Thats just one example. Killing because your leaders COVET your neighbours land and want to STEAL their resources, No, that certainly dont make me want to rush out to a christian church and get baptised. All you christians out there who are waiting for Jesus to return , what do you think he will say when he does?. Do you honestly think he will congratulate you on a job well done?. Think again my friend. His father gave us all the Good and Just LAWS @ COMMANDMENTS to live our lives by. and we have flaunted Every one of them through our ignorance and self gratification. Now will the REAL CHRISTIAN please STAND UP.

Christ defined it. Follow his example, teach it to others, love them and God as yourself, and read the scriptures. That about sums it up.

Christ compacted the ten commandments into the simple rule of Love others as yourself and love God as yourself. Like I said before, this is not love like a hippie loving all or some new age crap like that. It is desiring the best possible outcome for a person based on the person. This is why the Greeks used the word Agape instead of Éros, Philia, or Storge.

So say we fought Nazis in WW2? The best possible solution was to teach the Germans the cost of Nazism. So the war was just but horrid. The war in Iraq is wrong but you cannot deny the benefit in the long run. So it's a mixed issue. A war for no reason like Afghanistan is a sin because it has been so mismanaged and horrid and without point. The only worthwhile thing done is teaching little girls in school. If that means death to stop acid being thrown on their faces, it does have some justice, but not much.

He didn't die for me, he was barbarically tortured by man, none other than man, i would have tried to stop it if i was there, i don't feel i should praise him for his death, and i don't believe he was ressurected, maybe he just didn't fully die.

Thing is, we can have Christ's virtues without believing in Christ, how crazy is that?

and the 10 commandments, at least the first few are about your God's jelousy and anger if you were not to believe in him, what a fear-monger.

Right onn the money, theres no such thing as a REAL christian, unless you still believe wearing mixed fabrics are wrong, unless you believe punishment can be in the form of stoning, unless you fully believe in magic and miracles. Thats a real christian, stupid and out-of-date just like their book.
