They've faced down humans time and time again, but Fred Phelps and his minions from the Westboro Baptist Church were not ready for the cosplay action that awaited them today at Comic-Con. After all, who can win against a counter protest that includes robots, magical anime girls, Trekkies, Jedi and...kittens?

It appears the trolls got trolled.

With counter signs, chanting for gay sex, and even an appearance from Jesus, the Westboro Baptist Church was ultimately flattened by the combined efforts of a myriad of superheros, anime characters, furries and a variety of other nerdkind.

This isn't actually new and in fact I have to a degree done the same to these belligerent ass clowns when they were in Boston.

And I gotta say, the WBC is fun to mess with. Especially when you're louder then they are.

I don't advocate violence as a rule.

But if I ever run into Phelps he is going to bite the curb. Count on it.

You make your life's work increasing the suffering of people that are already suffering?

It would be well worth the time in jail to send him to the ICU.......

You're aware that's what they try to do, right?

Phelps was a freakin' lawyer. It's a scheme.

They piss people off and do all of their irrational nonsense. Then when someone gets pissed and attacks them, that person gets sued. It's what they do. It's how he and his church makes money.


What these people did was the right thing to do. By making their existence an entire joke, no one is angry. In fact, they're laughing at them now. Their trip fails because they don't incite anyone to lash out at them.

It would still give me satisfaction to put him in the hospital. If he wants to sue me for my 2001 Ford Focus, so be it.

But that is interesting, however. I was not aware he was a lawyer...

This is very funny. These brave "nerds" have realized that the WBC protesters are nothing more than clowns, and the best way to combat clowns is with comedy.

Fred phelps and his church (most of which are his own family) are wacked in the head. They hate everyone but themselves.

The geeks had thier day. They made them look like such tools.

The Westboro Baptist Church craves attention, and I'm sorry they get it. Instead, I imagine a world where everyone ignores vermin like that and they shrivel up into themselves and live happily ever after...and so do we.

Haha genius! Love that Jesus was there and they interviewed him. They should have kicked it up a notch though and got him to go and try and talk to them.
