Pentagon workers tied to child porn

dailycaller.com

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators have identified several dozen Pentagon officials and contractors with high-level security clearances who allegedly purchased and downloaded child pornography, including an undisclosed number who used their government computers to obtain the illegal material, according to investigative reports.
The investigations have included employees of the National Security Agency, the National Reconnaissance Office, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency — which deal with some of the most sensitive work in intelligence and defense — among other organizat

After careful thought on everything that is going on, and knowing how things work, the question must be asked, is there no oversite when it comes to the federal government? Is there nothing that would set it appart from the rest of the world to be looked up at and respected? This is not the first time that allegations in a federal department of such a nature has come out, and it probably will not be the last. The question is why is there no one looking or checking to see if the equipment is being abused. I have worked for many different companies, where there has been internet access, and in all cases, there has been a very specific rules as to what a person can and can not do, what web sites they are allowed to visit and not visit. In all cases, it was known, that the use was heavily monitored and any abuses were grounds for immediate termination. There is a time and a place for when a person can visit websites, and adult sites, but it should be done at home. But in this aspect, where these are sites that are clearly against the law, the question must be asked, if any who were looking at such, has ever acted on the fantasies that they were looking at, and if so, is the full extent of the law going to be applied.

The government is very well known for pinning child porn charges on people who will not conform to their corruption or people who know too much.

It erases every bit of credibility they've ever had.

Do I believe that many people downloaded child porn, and some while at work at the pentagon? Come on....

The federal government is perverted. To regulate their perversions would be to admit they are perverted. No surprise here.

Welcome to George Orwell's bureaucracy of 1984.

This is no surprise at all. Most people at the top are like that. That's how they managed to get there in the first place.

This is just plain sick and angering, especially seeing how the government likes to use that as an excuse to "get someone out of the way", as another poster suggested.

With that being said, I wonder if this was only the Pentagon cleaning house, in an effort to get possible whistle blowers out of the way. Did these employees accidently see something that they weren't supposed to see? Did these particular employees complain about something that they took part in? Were these the employees that filed complaints or apeared as if they might blow the whistle?

I surely wouldn't doubt it, not in the least. In fact, this is something that I would expect from the government, particularly the Pentagon.

You beat me to it. Logic isn't that hard. First thing I wondered was what they knew and who they were going to tell.

What's more disturbing is that they think all people are still falling for their tactic, which if you really think about it is a brilliant one that can be rather hard to defend. They have a few other favorites, I'm sure, but this seems to be the go-to.

I think this article is just what it is.
Some people got caught just
like the SEC did.

I could tolerate the the set-up scenario
had it been 1 or 2. But this many ???
I don't think it was a set-up unless
some whistleblower shows up here
on ATS with a bag of tricks and proves
me wrong.

I won't hold my breath

So who watches the watchmen? Its cliche to the max but the question stands. Its not enough that senior officials in intelligence are generaly moraly retarded enough to allow the deaths of innocent people in order than thier jobs remain secure, that thier information remains classified.
So how can the people trust that the information retained by intelligence services, is truely best kept from the public in every case? In order to attain an office as serious, and powerful as those occupied by the accused parties, should it not be a requirement that those persons be of unquestionable moral fibre? Protectors of rightness, bastions of sanity, and utterly beyond the desires and sicknesses of those over whom they have power?
I realise that this is idealism, but unless this is the case, how can we accept thier right to observe us? I mean with the resources at thier disposal, satelite look downs, surviellance equipment of every stripe, these people have potential access to the intimate details of any life they choose to monitor. Whats to stop a high level peadophile from accessing and using high powered intelligence hardware in the commision of thier sins against children?
I wonder if there is some network at play here. Im thinking intelligence officials with this predeliction might share data with one another. I wonder if they not only aquire indecent images, but produce them with the unwitting assistance of the thousands of people , and billions if not trillions of dollars of hardware at thier disposal, for sharing amongst other creeps of similar status .
The whole situation is absolutely reprehensible, and the very idea that these officials will more than likely get away with it is sickening. I hated the idea of the requirement for secret keeping in the first place, and I hate the intelligence services of all nations because I believe them all to be moraly corrupt ... but I never expected the rot to be of this kind, nor this widespread. I say burn them alive in thier fastness. Let the flaming wreck of the pentagon be thier tomb, and let the fires be kept burning as a reminder that corruption will be met with destruction, no matter how powerful , no matter how hidden the perpatrator.
