The British really are strangely obsessed with paedophiles aren't they?

Was it Sheffield where they accused half the city of fiddling with their kids?

I wonder if they would have arrested the Prophet Mohammed for his under age kiddie preclusions. Methinks not, in the befuddled British brain only Christians are capable of such wrongdoing.

Looks like they are at it in the Pentagon.

Not to excuse any possible actions of the Pope in regards to sheltering guilty priests, but, from an International standpoint:

The Pope is the head of the State of the Vatican. Literally a head of state, like the President.

So, we could compare this arrest threat to those who wish to arrest the President of the United States for war crimes (which might be an accurate charge)...Not going to happen. International law doesn't really allow for that.

Saddam was head of state, no? same with Manuel Noriega I believe... come to think of it so was Irans democratically elected president Mohammad Mosaddegh.. that didn't stop the CIA / operation ajax.

The bottom line is that rules, laws, and damn pieces of old paper (constitution) no longer apply to empires anointed elite.. they can break laws, kill people, start wars... with the impunity of modern day Kings. It's part of living under the GOP/DNC party leader rule some of you support with votes..

To be honest, I think the focus should be shifted to the pope's own country rather than attacking the UK's justice system. We obviously have some responsibility to uphold the moral code & whatnot, but it would cause way more harm than good going ahead with this arrest. And I dread to think of the backlash there would be if he were arrested and then found to be not guilty.

What can I say, we love the paedo's

And nah Mohammed definately wouldnt get arrested. He was married to the child in question and did have the decency to wait until she was 9 before consumating it.

(note to those lacking a sense of humour - Im NOT being serious, calm down)

I agree, the focus should be firmly at the Vatican footsteps, but would go as far to say that he should be interviewed regarding alleged cover-ups of sex scandals. Need to do a little research, but before he took position of head of the Catholic Church, wasn't part of his job to oversee the sex abuse cases?
