Huge metallic trap door right near military base in Nevada desert.

On Google Earth I have found this strange Metallic Trap Door near a military airport base. The dimensions of the mysterious Metallic Trap Door are indeed enormous: approximately 230 meters in diameter.
I wonder: which function does have a similar metallic trap door?
What hides under of it?
Which kind of Object , Airplane or other device have need of such structure?





Any idea or link about it?

No problems, although it was hardly research....more a couple of words typed into the search box lol.

Try searching under the keywords "huge silo doors at Area 51", or "UFO landing pad in Nevada"....things like that. You might have more luck.

i believe that they use a camo cover. they are able to take an aerial photo, digitize that image to come up with a color coordinated, topographical accurate cover. so, what you're looking at could simply be a large, or series of large tarps.

What indications do you have that it is a metallic door? To me it looks like a concrete pad.
