Lets see, Israel attacks a ship in international waters, forces it into an israeli port and wants to keep it. They will release it if Turkey signs a pledge stateing the ship will not be used for further aid runs.

There are just a few problems with that. First, the ships are privately owned so Turkey signing a pledge means nothing. Second, under international law (which Israel never obeys) the ships MUST be returned.

The current government of Israel is a sad joke. But of course, as usual, the world turns a blind eye!

You expected different?

They are holding three of the ships.

You could maybe understand holding the Mavi Marmara as that ship (according to Israel) was the only one that refused to obey.

But the other two ships should be released for sure.

Maybe they need them a bit longer to instal certain items incase they are used again. Who knows how Israel thinks

I would hold it too.

How many times do they need to capture, turn away or warn ships not to approach their blockade?

I would have been long past the point of just starting to sink ships. Maybe then they will get the idea.

But continue with your Israel is the devil thread.

It is impossible to "hold" these vesselse when it is clear that Israel owns the world.

they are the chosen people.

We are all just here for their enjoyment.

America will never help those in need when their master has no respect for human life.

I guess folks are gonna think twice about sending their ships if they know they wont be getting them back. Good tactic!

Welcome to ATS!

The Ships were interdicted in international waters over 100 miles off the coast of Gaza.

The blockade is illegal under international law as Gaza is not a country (UN so states)

Under international law, even if the blockade were legal the civilian ships would have to be returned.

The ships carried no weapons, only badly needed aid.

You may have missed those few points.

Incidently, This is NOT a "Israel is the devil thread" It is a thread to highlight Israels penchant for ignoring international law.

Israel plans to return the 4 ships to Turkey.

... Yet Thursday, July 22, Netanyahu's inner cabinet of seven resolved to return the four IHH-owned vessels which led the flotilla which Israeli commandos prevented from breaking the Gaza blockade on May 31, virtually without any strings attached. ...
