Blog dude. Blogs are opinion, not news. I will leave you now in your own world. Good luck. You're going to need it.

Is it not safe to say that biased news agencies going against other news agencies with opposite biases often are keen to telling the truth so as to destroy the other side? After all, getting caught lying about a liar incriminates both. just plain lying you can get away with most of the time, as evident by Reuters.

To me the whole Faux news uproar was created by tptb to catch the people who are sitting on the fence about reality and the spoon fed usual that we recieve from the msm.

Not everyone takes it to the next level and discovers what we here on this forum do and then take evasise action towards discovering what the truth is at all cost against the applied propaganda.

I still hold in my mind the way the news castors wore knee high boots and mini skirts and acted like dumb women around the mouthy, egotistical male co-anchors.

I just couldnt watch it unless there is some huge major breaking news story.

Its all part of the propaganda to make people think the news crew and station is rebelious and cutting edge.

In their favor I will say that they do get people like Gerald celente and from what he said in that older ATSinterview by questioningall, at least they "allowed" him to say what he wanted without being cut off or swayed to keep it 'nicey nice' for the early morning crowd. I may have that wrong but thats how I remembered it, even still it changes nothing in my oppinion.

ATS seems to be the best place to catch news and interviews, I would LOVE to see ATSNews take off and become way bigger than it is so that the exposure would open many peoples eyes who otherwise would miss.

We are already under the gun against speaking freely and honestly about touchy issues, why not go all out? Alex jones is getting msm coverage everyday because he broke out and went viral.

We are even better, no doubt and I think it is time we jump into the front lines so to speak.

Neo con means just what it states. It's a secular religious hybrid view at conservatism. Most of its members identify with religion, but certainly don't live it. They go to church and give to charities. that about sums it up.

Blah, Blah, blah, blah, blah, yawn. What a pefectly unintelligible diatribe. Were you the only financial supporter of that wonderful liberal radio station that little Allen Franken failed so beautifully at? You know, ole get out the dead vote franken? Pllllllllllease, keep up your comedy act, and you might get to steal a senatorial election too.

Yep, only those ever so progressive can't we all just get along, "untill you disagree with me liberals" are worthy of consideration and freedom of thought, speech or existence.
Ya'all in the majority, you can just sit down and swallow.

That's why progressives are all wearing the emperors new, old clothes.
Can you say, "exposed"?

I think any entity that has lied, and twisted facts for their own agenda should NOT be allowed to call themselves a News Agency. I and others like me have sooo much proof of Fox misrepresenting and down right lying to the people that watch them about very important issues. The MSM has been found out to be the liars that they are. People that can think for themselves and educate themselves know not to even turn them on anymore. They go to alternative News sources that DO tell the truth...News sources that INVESTIGATE real stories that are important to us the American People! INVESTIGATE!! Not 1 sided for their Corp. Friends and their Corp. Agenda. Evil Greedy Men run America now...we're not what our fathers wanted us to be. We've been taken over....we're slaves.... these people commit crimes and we turn our heads...

I don't stand behind this America... I don't call myself an American of todays world... All the greedy fux in Washington and the Corp. World can really just kiss my ass! In the end you'll get yours... !!!

The sad thing is many in our society DO wish to shut down Fox news and use social peer pressure to enforce.Typical of Democrats and so called 'Liberal's'.Fear of being propagandized is really just a display of ones own mental insecurity to be 'propagandized' in reflection of their own ignorance. You could say the same thing about zionism, socialism any 'ism' in which the follower's and rejector's base their trust simply on named association and blast opinion's not on the basis of the opinion, but the individual.

Many people in our society want to do a lot of things. But that doesn't mean those things are going to happen. I welcome discussion like this because it focuses us on the importance of our fundamental principles. It can enlighten people if done properly. And it can create further divides if done improperly...sort of like how most of this thread has gone, with people sinking their teeth into one insignificant point and gnawing it to death. Then again, it seems like that was learned behavior by emulation for the most part, not free thinking or real discussion of the topic.

I remember when Bush was president, and Fox News had a conservative bias. Back then, the other news stations were mostly against Bush. If the Bush Administration had tried to shut down liberal news outlets, how far would have that gone?

More importantly, if Obama keeps on setting precedents the way he is, we won't have any rights left. Think about it, if Obama shuts down Fox News, then what happens when Republicans get into office? They can pick and choose which news stations to shut down.

Then, we trickle down a road where the news media truly becomes state run. I'm sure that eventually, even forums like ATS would be shut down and independent blogs that go against the govt. Justifying the whole way, sliding down the slippery slope one decision at a time...

Until there is no freedom of press or freedom of speech. Ridiculous.

Why does it seem like our country is becoming more fascist and controlling than places like China? Didn't I just read somewhere that the U.S. govt. took down something like 20,000 blogs while China has only taken down 800 or so?

At any rate, I think if the government violates The Constitution, then it ceases to be legitimate. One of the reasons citizens have the right to bear arms is because it is their duty to revolt against a suppressive government. I am talking purely philisophically, mind you. And I have the freedom of speech to do so.

Yeah, our government became a total f-job lately. I'm not really sure if it is possible to fix. Vote out incumbents! Unless they are respectable. That will teach the people in power a lesson about being douchebags.

Think about it, there has already been a pattern this year and the end of last year of people winning ridiculous odds and getting voted into office.

I can't stand Fox News either, but still... huh.

That's all I have atm.

Wait... just had a revelation.

“Pre-Fox,” he wrote, “I’d say Scherer’s questions made sense as a question of principle. Now it is only tactical.”

For some reason that made me think. Isn't the natural order of things for those in power to try and keep power and those who are controlled to rebel? We are invited by the government itself to resist. It IS ONLY TACTICAL. They are probably laughing at how foolish we are right now.

If we end up without freedoms, is it not because the *people* failed to do their part? Is it not foolish to expect the government to make us free for us? It will not unless it feels it is tactical. It is time to stop feeling like victims and take the situation into our own hands. Peacefully, of course.

Like Lucidity said a few posts up, though, people are getting really bad at critical thinking for themselves. They probably do expect someone else to solve their problems for them... I kind of do, I mean how many people on here do? I think that each of us on here should take one step tomorrow towards improving our lives, and gaining freedom.

Why do we even have media channels like all of these in the first place anymore? Why not just a news station stating complete facts, no opinion and no extra trash. Having these channels is stupid and only divides people further into two categories which really are just as corrupt as the other.

Because so many issues are too complex to grasp in 2 minutes. People enjoy analysis of the issues, from several points of view. Analysis also gives them the opportunity to bring on subject matter experts to answer complex questions.

The shift from real journalism and news reporting to punditry was subtle and slow. Many people never realized what was happening. It still looked like the news, so it must be the news. But more people are now starting to discern the differences, still not enough, in my opinion, but it's a start.

As for why we don't have more real journalism and news reporting? It all comes down to what it usually comes down to...ratings and making $$$.
