Thats because when most men ask a woman out on a date, he pays, he expects more than she bargained for. If she says NO, she means NO the first time but he thinks by her saying no means "lets negotiate" so when he persists, this IS sexual harrassment!!! If he goes further then he's looking at jail time.

Where a woman is drunk, she is in no condition to consent no matter what she says or does'nt say. To take advantage of a woman in such a state is not only dishonest, disrespectful and cowardly; there's no ring of intigrity.

Would'nt that be nice in the real world however since the beginning of time couples have had sex outside of marriage in fact marriage only came about since Torah. In ancient times (before Torah and the Bible was created) when a man took in to a woman, she was then regarded automatically as his wife.

I'm not talking about drunk, I agree, if people are drunk, it is taking advantage, and wrong. But the law is so vague, that just one drink counts.

Also, it's not about what happens on that date, even just the asking is enough to be breaking the law now if she files a complaint.

Let me get this straight, she met a guy in a bar, had sex with him after knowing him for a couple of hours found out he told some lies to get her in the sack and this is rape?

Perhaps if the girl in question wasn't so easy and got to know the guy first she would realize that he wasn't who he said he was.

I'm not saying that it's wrong to throw caution to the wind and enjoy a quick romp with a relative stranger but you have to be aware that there might be some consequences from doing so. The fact that you were lied to seems to me to be one of the lesser consequences that could have happened.

Also, can anyone tell me if Arabs typically get circumcised. If not then I think that would have been a pretty big red flag before the deed even happened. I'll give a pass on this as it seems that maybe it was done in a rush and she didn't get a look.

Anyways, I think the girl in question should be responsible for her actions regardless of what the guy told her. What if it was a Jewish man who was married and promised her a romantic long term relationship, got her in the sack and she found out about his lie afterwards. Would the Jewish man be on trial for rape?

What if a married women has sex with a single man only after telling him that she is also single. If it is against his beliefs to have sex with somebody that is married, is it considered rape when he finds out that she is in fact married?

This is a race/religion thing, simple as that. Let's put it this way, suppose the man was Jewish and was a bit of a bragger. Say he told the girl that he can last for 30 minutes and had a larger than normal penis and was very talented. When she takes him home, however, she finds the man is borderline impotent, lasts 10 seconds, and is otherwise pretty damned boring. Is that justifaction for fraud and rape? After all, she wouldn't have taken him to bed if she knew he was a lousy lay, right?

Jews, Arab Muslims, Druze and Armenians are circumcized.

Not sure about Arab Christians though but my guess is most of them are since there is much fewer of them due to high numbers of them converting to Islam of recent times.

Jewish man also were convicted due to the same law, it is not a first time man is convicted in Israel due to this law.
According to the article he did not say that he was married and he

introduced himself as a Jewish bachelor seeking a serious relationship,

The law states:
Rape is when:
1) Women does not agree.
2) Women agrees but it is due to deception.
Rest is irrelevant. Person was married. If he was a Jew she still could sue him with same result. And Arab women could sue Jewish man too, in the same circumstences.

Hey Tim, welcome to ATS! Generally I attack what I consider to be injustices perpetrated by the Israeli government of the cowardly IDF. I draw a distinction between governments and people. I have often been called an Anti-Semite. Anyone that reads all my posts wouldn't think so.

Stupid laws like this are to protect the "purity" of Jewish blood. Actually many arabs (they are called "Arabs" because they speak arabic) are descended from the ancient Israelites having been forcibly converted during the Mohammadem wars. Most Ashkanazi Jews are Khazar converts to Judaism without a drop of ancient Jewish blood. The girl would likely have her "Jewish" gene pool improved had she got pregnant.

I did not hear about such a case. I am sure though that if Arab women complained that Jewish married man claiming he was an Arab single man raped her and it would not get legal treatment, internet would drown in posts screaming about Israeli racism. And since even numerous people who "have to start somewhere" are silent about the issue - my guess it did not happen yet. Which is good.Don't you think?
