Erm, this one is quite worrying. Are you trying to say Americans shower too much, as in wash?!? The real question there is how little do YOU shower?

There is a theory that excessive showering (twice a day) reduces one of the ways that we use to get a first impression of someone.

In much the same way as animals smell each other, humans subliminally (sp?) make judgements based on the natural smell of another person created by their body oils, sweat etc.

The elimination of this has been theorised as being key to society becoming more impersonal.

I mean, don't take it too far, but excessive cleaning is almost worse than not enough.

I like the idea of this one, as long as it doesn't turn into a "patriotism-fest"

No doubt people in the UK would take umbrage at the thought of being the US' lapdog, but equally, many would not describe themselves as European.

It could make for an interesting debate.

I will battle through the cyberspace blocks preventing my access to ATS, and i shall give the show a listen, shall also be in the chat room as that doesn't seem to be affected.
Could be a subject for the show...Mystery denial of service "bug" on ATS?

Seeing as this is a European show I assume the cultural bar will be set a little higher for the listeners. You'll find the USA version has to be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator
