Free at last! Free at last!

After 30 years of owning a business and seeing the government take bigger and bigger shares of my profits to give to the moochers and parasites of this nation, today is the day! After six months of planning with my tax attorney and my accountant, I am happy to report that I will no longer abet the thieves and slave masters that have taken over this country.
For six months my accountant, tax attorney, and I met trying to project what the cost of doing business in the years ahead will be and how to position my company to survive the continuing economic downturn and new federal taxes and regulation that are being instituted. Needless to say, it has been an eye opening experience.
No one seems to have any factual numbers or information that would allow us to make quantifiable projections regarding the cost of new fees, taxes, rules, and penalties associated with Obama care, the new regulations on 1099 forms, new business taxes, both state and federal, as well as business associated reporting requirements, and the decline of readily available capital. Combine this with the increased cost of each employee and the downturn in sales and services, and it’s almost impossible to determine even a good estimate of what the cost of doing business will be in the coming years. That being said, the projections we did come up with were to put it mildly deplorable. So after seeing the writing on the wall, and with October and the new fiscal year looming, we went from trying to keep the business running to salvaging what we could of it to pay for my retirement. We have succeeded!
So, to all you socialist, to all the wealth redistributionist who think I should give back even more of my hard earned dollars, and to all the just plain low life moochers who have ruined this country, I wanted to let you know you will get no more from me! As of today I will be letting go of the short end of the stick. I have sold off my business assets, closed the doors, and retired to my 200 acre ranch where I will watch from the sidelines as the nation slowly sinks into the mire of socialism. I have structured my assets and earnings in such a way that I have made sure that when my wife and I reach 62.5 yrs we will receive all the social security benefits we are entitled to. My monthly income from my personal savings and retirement plans are structured in such a way as to insure that rather than pay income taxes, I will be getting tax refunds. My house and land are paid for, and I will even get subsidies from the government for some of my land. While I will never get back even 20% of the monies I have paid into this Ponzi scheme, I will get back just as much as I possible can. I will no longer be supporting the thugs, criminals that run our country nor will I any longer support the inept and socialist policies. But as I have been told time and time again I should give something back. So here you go.
This is what I am giving back.

187 employees that I had on salary will now be able to join the growing population of those on unemployment... Rather than paying taxes on the income I paid them, they will now be receiving tax credits, and handout from the government coffers.
187 people who will no longer be contributing to social security.
87 families that will be getting healthcare from the federal government rather than 1paying into the socialist, rationed, healthcare that is coming down the pike.
187 families that will no longer be paying state, and local, taxes on their income.
187 families will have to cut their expenses to make ends meet, thus contributing to the downturn in business in the local area.
The government will lose an estimated 1.3 million dollars in business taxes, fees, licenses, payroll taxes, penalties, not to mention the corp. income taxes on profits from my company.

To all the producers out there I say get out while the getting is good! No longer support this oppressive government and its wealth redistribution schemes.

To all of the moochers and parasites out there. I leave you with a line from my favorite movie. “ I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time”

I can see that you are concerned with yourself only. While you have every right to do with your business as you please, rest well knowing that even though you have the ability to help people you choose to look only after yourself. The system is in need of a big overhaul; agree with you there...as to your methodology in making a statement - it stinks like poo. And did you even entertain the thought of looking for a buyer who would maintain the current staff, or at least a part of..?

Of course I am concerned with me and mine. Who else should be? That's one of the problems in this country right now. I did no go into business with the alturist goal of giving people jobs, I went into business because i wished to make a good life for myself and my family. i still have the ability to help people and I will as I deem fit, and One of the best ways I feel I can help people is to no longer support a corrupt government bent on taking from those whose abilities allow them to live and prosper, without taking from others their hard earned monies.
Futher, I have not done anything to stop one of my ex employees from either starting their own business, nor did I refuse to sell my business outright to any of them who would have desired to buy it. alas, none of them had the nerve, the money or the incentive to avail themselves of this oppurtunitity. I have worked harder than others, made better decisions than others, and provided for my family better than others. For this i should be ashamed? not bloody likely! I have made my fortune despite all the attempts by the moochers of the world to see it given away to them. If anyone else wishes to make their fortune doing as I did, then I say good luck and work hard. To the rest of you I say you have gotten all you are going to get from me.

Excellent. I spend most of my time helping people like you get the government out of your pocket. As for your employees, the strong will thrive and the moochers will mooch. Your timing was excellent, as attested to by the percipitous drop in the dollar over the last two weeks. Tough to sell a business in a depression. That being said, hopefully you drew enough cash to survive several years, bought substantial gold, moving the rest to tax deferred products. One sidenote. The government is looking into taking over all 401k/IRA products. Be prepared to withdraw on short notice. Even if you are under 59 1/2, taking the penalty will be worth it, as it will go into a pool and most of the money will be redistributed to those who saved nothing. Commodities will perform well in a crash (hint).

Good for you. Well done, the fact IS, the government/corporation HAD NO SAY to begin with. Lawyers and accountants are british agents working for the crown, they decieve and disguise, just as they were taught in school.

So you did not need to pay any taxes to begin with as there hasn't been any "money" since June 5th 1933. House Joint Resolution 192 took the gold from the publics hands and gave us IOU's for the gold, you can not pay a debt with a debt instrument!! So there is no way to pay for anything. Taxes are a usury fee for THE USE of the federal reserve NOTE.

People are so set in their ways and beliefs it is utterly hilarious!! I went through the PUBLIC FOOL SYSTEM too!! I was once fooled but now have discovered the truth and WHO has done this to this Country known by many as the U.S., but it is really known to those who know the truth, as AMERICA. The U.S. is a corporation with many subdivisions, of which, your business was one of them and you didn't even know it. Funny isn't it!!

Why do we/you pay "Federal income tax", are WE all federal employees? Why do you pay "State income tax", are you a state employee. Ever ask yourselves that?

Someday very soon, you will all get it. The OP did the right thing, just a bit too late.

The thing is, it was your business, not theirs. They push politics and agendas that wreck your company and many more like yours, then after you throw in the towel, they want to tell you that you are wrong?

I applaud you.
I would have done the same to 200 or even 2000 or even 200,000 so that my family is comfortable.
If you cannot keep what is yours, I say don't play the game.
It is like gambling against the house when they know your hand.
Me and mine first, harsh but you must protect yours.

Glad you were able to get out and provide for your family in such a good way. Glad you have the property paid off because you can't depend on those retirement programs lasting if it all goes south.

You are doing a service to this country. The sooner it all collapses the sooner we can rebuild an honest society!

What is amazing is all the replies on this thread implying you are a bad guy for initiating a business the supported a 187 families for over twenty years. That you put in your time labor, sweat, and tears to make it all work etc., and now that the government has driven you out of business you are somehow doing something wrong... Sigh.

Good luck! Some of us have been out for a while but were not able to secure things as well as you however those that are willing to work hard will survive fine those that think they deserve the fruits of others labor will perish!

It makes me sad to see a capitalist throw in the towel.

However it makes me happy whenever someone can escape the criminal tax system with enough personal wealth to retire on their own.

I hope you bought physical gold and are holding it in a safe on your own property, because any paper retirement assets will eventually be seized.

When the economy fully implodes, the criminal politicians will use all necessary means to relieve you of your property. They will not stop until they have everything you have ever worked for.

Trust me, they are coming for the retirement accounts.

DO NOT TRUST THOSE ACCOUNTS, THEY WILL BE SEIZED.

Understand that business is not a Charity. It is a business, a tool to generate profit. A company should not exist to care for it's employees.. it exist for that profit only. When you increase taxes and fees, especially the god awful Obamacare.. you basically put a choker on the smaller businesses..

If 187 people lost their jobs.. it wasn't this guys fault, it was the Governments fault. Had they stayed out of his affairs and not taxed every penny, then pile fees on top of it, those 187 wouldn't be in such a situation.

Well I wouldn't worry about 187 families and what you're saying about them is totally ludicrous! If they were working for you, they're obviously strong and work hard, or you would have gotten rid of them long ago, so they are hard workers and not moochers, and I would not cry for them they'll be able to find other work, as they are not scamming off the system for those years they worked for you. There's always someone else that will appreciate their hard work and loyalty. That's all I have to say on the matter.

You realize that social security is a form of wealth redistribution? you knock the system, but then you say you are going to rely on it when your time comes. kind of hypocritical, if you ask me. Im sorry to hear about your employees, but the way you word the thread, you make it sound like they are all leaving the work force permanently. Most, im sure, will find other jobs and Big brother will just take his bite at their other jobs to make up the difference.
