Hopw do i get boinc running

I've already got a boinc acount and I've downloaded the program but I can't seem to get it working. Can anyone help me with this?

When did you download it? Do you know what version you downloaded?

I just downloaded it today so I'm guessing it is the newest version.

The reason I was asking was because my BOINC won't get new work units unless I have the latest version. I am not too sure about what the problem is. If I were you, I would send a U2U to xn. He is the resident expert on SETI and BOINC. That is what I did when I wasn't getting any new work units.

Do I attach to a project to get it working because i can't seem to do that.

To get BOINC working:

1. Download BOINC from the site for your operating system.
2. Sign up for a BOINC Beta account on the site.
3. After installing BOINC, under settings click on "Attach to Project...".
4. Insert the project url, in this case it'll be the BOINC Beta test url.

5. Then put the account key you received by email in the 2nd textbox.

It's recommended that you run Benchmarks when you install the software. To do this click on "Run Benchmarks" under File.

Note: BOINC will download the required files for the project after you attach to a project.

That didn't work when i tried doing it.

What step doesn't work? Are there any error messages?

The only thing it says is that it couldn't get the mina page for that URL.
