"The Washington Post plans to publish a website listing all agencies and contractors believed to conduct Top Secret work on behalf of the U.S. Government," the notice reads. "The website provides a graphic representation pinpointing the location of firms conducting Top Secret work, describing the type of work they perform, and identifying many facilities where such work is done."

I don’t know about the rest of ATS, but this is going to be like Christmas for us conspiracy theory loving nerds. So does anyone want to speculate about what we’re all going to find out or do you think this is just a attempt at disinfo.

Your thoughts please.

Perfect
Those against the U.S. would have a source to know everything

Just like the "Documentary" programs on t.v. that show where and how the nuclear plants, dams, etc are and how they work.

Give them all the tools they need to take us down.

I'm not for hiding what the people "Need" to know, just publishing information that would help the ignorant (terrorists) are what they call them, they are NOT "terrorists" they are WIMPS, and should be labeled that.

A "terrorist" is someone who stands up and fights, shows their identity and does not care if their opponent knows where or who they are.

just my "thoughts"

Thanks for the post

I wonder if they have given them for warning can they get their names removed from the list by the date? Wow the fact that they are informing them to put up accomplishments, really makes it sound like they have a lot to hide, but with minds like those of ATS we should have no problem seeing right through the sprinkles, and get right to the cake.

I cant wait, finally they get called out, at this point I dont even care if SOME of the info is wishy washy, I know thats to be expected. So enjoy, I know I will.

Peace to you

Slippery slope here. People could wind up dead here, and billions of investigative dollars wasted. I hope they know what they're doing and are getting some good legal advice.

No information will be given out, I have proof in the form of one word.
Wikileaks.

This reminds me of an 80's sting in NYC where the police would invite criminals to a Yankees game just to arrest them.

Perhaps the first big push to control the internet by arresting all the conspiracy researchers and branding them terrorists.

I can't see this being anything too controversial; at least to most of the people on ATS.

From your link...

Themes

While we can't predict specific content, we anticipate the following themes:

The intelligence enterprise has undergone exponential growth and has become unmanageable with overlapping authorities and a heavily outsourced contractor workforce.

The IC and the DoD have wasted significant time and resources, especially in the areas of counterterrorism and counterintelligence.

The intelligence enterprise has taken its eyes off its post-9/11 mission and is spending its energy on competitive and redundant programs.

Nothing we didn't already know, although it may throw up a few leads that, after a little research, could give up some interesting information.

I have to say i am actually ageist most of this type of journalism that seeks to expose the work of the intelligence agencies or Special Forces. Don’t get me wrong I am a hypocrite because I read most of it, but it’s a bit of a double edge sword. I doubt that any information that could lead to serious harm to current operational matters but all the same more public information has to increase the threat somewhere.

I really don’t think there will be anything to explosive on this website but we might get some confirmation on some of the stuff we have been discussing.

Im guessing a lot of corporations will be on the list,

Like Lockheed Martin, Boeing,

Maybe some pharmaceutical companies, like Baxter

Bottled water companies,

TV and Radio stations... ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN

Acorn for rigging votes....

General Motors

I could probably go on forever....

You post just gave me a thought, what if we start to abuse this information. For example say this site says the CIA have been buying x amount of water from a water company. People might start to assume this is proof that they have been contamination water supplies when in fact its just the CIA buy water. The same can be said for the pharmaceutical companies all that would mean is that the CIA have been buying drugs rather than evidence of a conspiracy.

I don't see the big deal, and personally don't see it being something "they" could use to hurt "us".

They aren't outing CIA agents, or giving the location of CIA prisons.

Its easy to get on Google Earth and find just about any nuclear power plant in the US, I don't think knowing who made the wheel bearings in the UAV is going to be a cause for panic.

Could you imagine what would happen if ATS’s name was on that website, it is feasible but we won’t know until the WP start to publish.

I have my suspicions it might. I mean I believe personally this site was created for good intentions, but eventually humans turn a good thing and screw it up.

Government probably took over somewhere down the line if it did.

Since when are there previews for articles? Is Washington Post NBC now? Are they trying to get their competitors to research and publish too so there's none of that "into the buzzsaw" issue?

I agree its a double edged sword. Yes its cool were going to get more insight into our theories, but it also give the enemies of the US blueprints to take us down and where to go after first. We'll see what comes of this, I'm just hoping more good come from it then bad. I can only see a fire storm being started over this. Awesome find though, gives me something to look forward to.

I don't think they are going to out agents, wikileaks have tweeted that the washington post will have something to say on Monday. I'll try and dig out the tweet title.

Tweet goes, 'real change begins Monday in the washpost. By the years end, a reformation. Lights on. Rats out.'
