Raids are increasing on farms and private food-supply clubs

www.eutimes.net

...While no one will say officially what the purpose of this latest raid was, aside from being part of an investigation in progress, what is very clear is that government raids of producers, distributors, and even consumers of nutritionally dense foods appear to be happening ever more frequently. Sometimes they are meant to counter raw dairy production, other times to challenge private food organizations over whether they should be licensed as food retailers...

According to the article, a number of government organizations ranging from the FBI and the FDA to state-level agricultural authorities are raiding farms and so-called "food clubs," where people grow and swap their own healthy, non-franken-food, non-genetically-manipulated, non-sprayed-with-pure-poison foods.

After all, we can't have private citizens cutting into agribusiness profits, now can we? And heaven forbid people start actually growing their own healthy food and caring for themselves! Oh the horror.

Whoever controls the food supply, controls the population. It's how the kings, emperors and tyrants of history, at least in part, have been able to get large populations to do the heavy lifting, whether it be building large castles, city defenses or monuments for their percieved greatness.

I think there could be a few reasons for this latest control of the food supply. First and foremost, it would seem that corporations are using the government to cut down on competition, healthy competition. Then, if the American population stays fat and unhealthy, we will be completely dependent on the health care industry. Not only that, but the more fat and unhealthy we become, the more subdued and lazy we become, far less likely to either question the system... or fight it.

To me, it is clear that "they" don't want us healthy, nor do "they" want us skirting their system of food distribution, whether it be for corporate profit or control. What I have learned through my years on this planet, is that if something is within the best interests of the public, then TPTB will do whatever is necessary to stamp "it" out. If something is in our best interests, then it is forbidden.

The Co-Op where I purchase my raw milk and organic veggies, and grass fed beef was recently harassed here in Michigan. Here is the article

www.businessweek.com...

He is still up and running so I can still get my good food but for how long??

They took raw honey in one of the raids? You gotta be kidding me. I cant imagine the arguement to justify taking honey.

Most state have some sort of law prohibiting the sale of raw milk, you can generally buy a "cow share" however to get around this, not in Wisconsin, but most places. Having laws against raw milk may have their place, as if not properly handled, all sorts of bad things can happen.

But to target small farms and food co-ops with no actuall proof of wrongdoing is simply criminal. Just another example of our government prosecuting us in order to keep us safe.

Dont worry however, eventually all foods will be grown by Monsanto, precooked with God knows what added to it to keep us safe and controlled.

I guess somebody didn't read the part of the article
where the milk was making people sick.

If you read further it also states that the sickness was never traced back to the milk.

"We've had an investigation for several months now," says Katherine Fedder, director of the Michigan Agriculture Dept.'s food & dairy division. The investigation, she says, began with a report from a local public-health department last spring about children who had become sick who " had consumed unpasteurized milk." She noted, though, that the children's illness was never traced back to raw milk or any other specific food. In any event, a department inspector joined the co-op to purchase milk and expand the investigation.

So what? Ever go to a store and see a gallon of milk past its expiration day. Or the discount meat that is turning green?

If you buy/consume raw milk, you take that chance, same as anything else you buy or consume. Doesnt matter if the government deems it safe.

Caveat emptor.

It's an attempt to abolish self-reliance at the community level. To enhance dependence on government. The government has become and entity as opposed to a framework. It has become a hungry parasite. Beware the government. They have at their hands control of healthcare, industry, finance. All that remains is the food supply. Control the food, control the healthcare, control the banks, control the job......control the people and self-perpetuate government. Imagine as a child the first time you encountered a group of really mean kids, who took your stuff. You couldn't imagine it happening until you witnessed it. The next time it happened you were ready. You went the other way, or you threw the first punch. Some are in disbelief now. They don't want to imagine sinister motives, so they laugh it off. Read history. To each dictatorship, there is a beginning. And here we are. Vigilence and awareness is the only defense. Did you know the new financial regulation bill gives the government access to every transaction you make? Are you comfortable with that? Really? They'll use the information to control behavior via legislation creating more things we can't do, and to quell dissent. "You don't want us to turn off your bank account, do you?" Good luck. Oh, and by the way, next up, personal ownership of firearms.

The problem here is horizontal organization of people.

History teaches us that such attempts end by throwing such people to the lions.

Because, ahem ... the sand is thirsty

Food, Water and Shelter.

Shelter was locked down during the "mortgage crisis"
Monsanto runs a third of the government. There goes the food.
Water has been owned for 100 year but we're not in crisis just yet there.

I say let millions of backyard gardens bloom, they could never stop it unless they banned growing your own food, or using non-gmo seeds.

there was nowhere in the article that said the milk was making people sick, just that some kids got sick.
raw dairy products are still being sold in europe and have been since farming began. Properly handled there is nothing wrong with it and it is much better for you

No it doesnt stop it. Look, heres the thing. Do you just obey? Or do you shove loud NO's with bullhorns and absolute refusal to obey down their throats? This isnt a time to be passive. Its way past the time to get very loud and in their face and continue always to do the right thing.

These farm raids need to have organized rebellion, support and organized groups demanding their goods are returned and FULL compensation for this made. People cannot let this slide.

Another very important point that wasn't mentioned in any of the links, or in the thread:
As an organic eater (and I try very hard to buy local as well) My family and I do not consume nearly as much food as we used to a year ago before we decided to switch!
The nutrient-dense foods sustain a person so much more efficiently than the slop shoveled to the masses! I am worried that some of my suppliers are gonna get hit like these poor people!

I think a thread on ATS mentions that the head of the FDA is Ex-Monsanto.

That's the problem.

Seems like the US needs an 'Independant Anti-Corruption Commission'. One that can follow an investigation right through the Government itself if need be.
