I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts. Without you this place would be rampant, irrational speculation. You give well thought out, rational explication that any level headed person can benefit from.

Like this is some kind of surprise! Everyone, this is just a new breed of engine. The same that NASA said would take us to mars in 90 days. Everyone has been working on vectored plasma engines for sometime now. As always NASA has over engineered the problem and failed epically (See NASA’s Xenon Thruster). Russia farted out as well.

Imagine what this new engine means for space travel. There is no longer a need for different engine types as a plasma engine works both here on earth and in space.

That is one thing that I was sure to do.

I looked at the top right, is it at the extreme (curved) edge of the exposure?

They have been talking a lot about this UFO on CNN and now there is an article on the website now as well! Massachusetts Institute of Technology weapons specialist Geoffrey Forden claims its just a balistic missle from the Chinese military and any other images are faked. How long have people here at ATS been saying its a missle? CNN Link

The problem with Forden's suggestion is that there's no other evidence for a missile test the time of the airport sighting:
www.armscontrolwonk.com...

On the other hand, what ATS people HAVE been saying is that the widely-linked video of the left-to-right moving "comet" is a Russian satellite rocket [NOT military missile] launch on June 30 that got absorbed into the mass media hype over the subsequent airport story.

ATS posters who defiantly refuse to accept that video's explanation, and mindlessly mock the explanation, are so resistent to reality that they have become part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Part of the solution SHOULD involve seeking the best witnesses, and here's one (Linda Moulton Howe got the link from me but did not acknowledge it) who has not been discussed here yet:

“China Airport UFO”: Xiaoshan Airport Staff Interview
On www.ghosttheory.com...
Ruan Zhouchang, spokesperson, Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou
[through interpretor]
“There was an unknown object seen in the skies over the airport. So according to our regulations we had to close the airspace. Aircraft movements were suspended from 8:45 PM to 9:41 pm. “
Reporter: “Airport staff say the first reports of the UFO came in just after 8 PM from both air traffic controllers and civilians. The object at the center of the commotion, visible as a light in the sky, was captured in this photo. It may not look like much but it does not belong to a civilian aircraft. Nor does it match the flight plan of any aircraft supposed to be operating in the area at the time. ….

“Ruan Zhoucheng said there were few eyewitnesses because the incident occurred at night. When most staff members were not present and passengers were in the waiting hall.”

Ruan Zhoucheng [through interpretor]: “I heard that some of the passengers whose flights just landed saw the object which appeared as glowing light[s]. It was not a normal civil aviation flight. What it actually was, no one knows.”

Ruan Zhoucheng [through interpretor]; “What it was is hard to say right now. When the results of our investigation are published we may have a clearer idea, or we may never know.”

ok so the newest picture from the China UFO has swayed me the other way..at first I was willing to say it looked like a long exposure of something (But of WHAT..possibly a helicopter) I even went out and took some long exposures of the many planes over head (I live on a busy flight path) but the light pattern was different, as the planes where in motion so the trail was much longer. Different exposure times may have been a factor. But this latest picture..Im doubting its a long exposure of anything terrestrial now..

unidentified aerial craft from a Hangzhou contact who requests anonymity. The photo was reportedly taken on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM near the Xiaoshan Airport in which airline flights were suspended from 8:45 PM to 9:41 PM.

UFOs Over China: Alien Invasion or Economic Indicator?

In the past two weeks, China has had two major UFO sightings. The first, on July 7, was basically a glowing streak in the sky near Xiaoshan airport in Hangzhou, a city outside Shanghai. In the interests of passenger safety, airport authorities shut down operations for an hour, and eighteen planes were delayed. Eight days later, on July 15, another UFO appeared in Chongqing, a city in eastern China. Described as "four lantern-like objects forming a diamond shape," the lights "hovered over the city's Shaping Park for over an hour." Whether or not China has recently become a destination spot for space travelers, its recent spate of unexplained celestial phenomena may say a great deal about its emerging place in the world -- and its plans for the future. At least that picture seems to match the first few that came out. Its too bad this story has been contaminated so badly with 'wrong' pictures of contrails, missile tests & fakes no doubt thats very pleasing to the powers that be & the skeptics. Easy pickins!

You already posted this on another thread, it was explained then what the cause was. There's nothing out of the ordinary on there.

When did this happen? July 7th?

Yesterday was the first time I have seen this story on TV news.

On CNN, yesterday, they had a short clip of the "ufo" and all Don Lemon had to say about it was that they should look to the Chinese Military for answers. Didn't even mention WHEN this happened.. So if you didn't know about the story you would have thought that it just happened instead of happening 2 weeks ago.. Man they are slow in reporting news, in my opinion.
