Egyptian President dies?

BREAKING NEWS! 16 June 1004 10:15 AM - EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT HOSNI MUBARAK DEAD???
Unconfirmed reports by multiple posters on multiple Arabic language message boards claim that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has died.

The reports indicate that Mubarak's health took a turn for the worse late last night, and he was rushed to a Cairo hospital. According to the report, the Egyptian government is expected to not release news of the death until an orderly succession can be ensured.

If this turns out to be true, this could be huge. If a very pro-islamic official takes his place, and decides to attack Israel or something like that, we could have the startings of a massive war on our hands here. Have to keep an eye on this.

From a source close to the Presidents nephew he is very much alive. Did suffer back pain last night but that is all. Totally bogus. Other reports flying around he was assasinated.

Well, a poster at Little Green Footballs is quoting a Reuters story saying that Mubarak is alive and well. See comment 99 by MP Rob.

But I cannot find this story by searching the Reuters website or Google News. So it is unclear what is going on.

Hunsi's double is coming out of surgery right now and will be up to making an appearance to disprove this silly rumor shortly......

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak held talks Wednesday with CIA director George Tenet, an Egyptian official said, quashing rumors that Mubarak was ill.

I do believe Pres. Mubarak is okay.
