Iran: Missing Scientist Takes Refuge in Pakistan Embassy in US

Iran's state media say an Iranian nuclear scientist has taken refuge in Pakistan's embassy in Washington and is seeking an immediate return to his homeland. The scientist, Shahram Amiri, went missing during a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, where Iran says he was captured and handed over to U.S. intelligence agents - a claim the United States denies.

Can it get anymore mysterious than this? USA claimed the Iranian scientist fled on his own from Iran and also showed a video of the scientist saying so. Then another video surfaced of the same scientist which claimed he was forcefully kept in United States after which he disappeared. Now the scientist in question Shahrahm Amiri has taken refuge in Pakistan Embassy in W.DC and want's to return back to Iran.

The latest twist in Amiri's case follows conflicting accounts, reportedly by the scientist himself, that he had been kidnapped and tortured by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency or, conversely, he was in the United States for academic studies.

I dont understand if he was abducted then how lax was the security that they allowed the scientist to escape from their custody? How did the scientist survived all this time without getting caught when he probably knows noone in U.S, no material support or anything. Very strange indeed.

Although the two videos contradicted with each other regarding the reason of his missing, Amiri's latest audio message revealed that he was offered 10 million U.S. dollars to appear on CNN and announce that he had willingly defected to the U.S..
