Why is this an automatic ghost? Because we don't know else it could be?

Geeze!

This is the same primitive reasoning cavemen had when they heard thunder and assumed it was their pissed off god speaking to them!

If we had to label this, it would be safer to just deem this an unknown 'anomaly' for now.

Nice!

I Remember seeing a documentry on ghosts a few years ago, and one of a supposed "ghost caught on tape" was a strange black mass too.

Are these like a certain type of ghost or what?

Anyway, this is my first ever post on ATS after two years of just visting and not making an account

It IS a bug. Look at :06. You can see it fly on to the lens. And as far as it moving, it all checks out with an out of focus bug.

What's that in the bottom right in the milliseconds right before the video ends?

edit to add:

Also, the camera is shaking. I thought this was a surveillance video? If so, the cam would have been mounted to a surface & thus not shaky.

And it's like the operator focused on where "it" appeared before "it" showed up, and moved when "it" disappeared.

Definite bug. I wish it wasn't but it is. You can see it fly in from the bottom left corner, stop on the camera lens, then move up and left. Blurry, out of focus because it is standing on the lens, but a bug none the less.

Personally my take is that often VHS tapes are used in surveillance, and often they are used over and over and over. This creates stored images on the film so likely what we are seeing is a shadow of a home movie after it had been erased a billion times(exaggeration). Just my two cents. Good find all the same. THX. I will posit the theory that the image is NOT a ghost.

Ghosts are typically beings of light and display light-like properties when filmed. Obviously the image on the video (if genuine) is not that of a light being. In fact, it appears to be the opposite.

At times appearing as a floating blurry mass with hints of a momentary humanoid shape, could this be more relevant to the appearance of the infamous "shadow people" whatever that may be?

It's a spider! Out of focus but still a spider. You can clearly see it in the last few seconds of the video.

Seeing what you want to see and not using any critical thought only fuels the sceptics derision.

To be honest, most "ghosts" are seen by people (especially researchers) as black masses or shadow people. This ghosts isn't a ghost, but is an old VHS tape that has a bit a bleed through, but there are really tough to debunk bits of footage and photos out there of shadow apparitions and black masses. The bright or pale white apparitions happen, but they aren't as common.

Looks more like someone is videotaping the monitor of the security system and their hand is not steady. Cameras don't have box outlines.

Not a bug, it in no way resembles a bug. Look closely as it begins to climb what we think are stairs. It has what looks to be a long coat and shoes - more pronounced than the rest of the figure.

If you watch it at the very beginning you can barely make out the shape of a long flying insect. I don't know much about bugs but after the first insect comment that's all I can see now.

Well, no matter what it is.. if it's a bug, blurry vhs, reflection ( wich I think it is... )

I think we can positivly id this vid as non paranormal, no ghost, no shadowman...

Or in the words of the good old mythbusters; BUSTED

I'm a paranormal investigator, and I can say with certainty that this is a bug on the lens of the camera. It flies in, lands on the lens, and then moves up to the left.

Im goin with the Bug consensus. Ive seen a fair amount of bugs on camera screens in my time as a surveillence agent at a local casino, and what I see looks alot like the bug on the lens to me. I wish it was a ghost, but to me..nope..not a ghost.
