Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday he's seriously considering seeking the Republican presidential nomination and will announce his decision early next year.

Gingrich, 67, told The Associated Press that he would focus on helping Republican candidates through the midterm elections in November, then decide in February or March whether to seek the GOP nomination.

"I've never been this serious," Gingrich said.

"It's fair to say that by February the groundwork will have been laid to consider seriously whether or not to run," he said.

I don't like Newt Gingrich. He is a religious nut job who is out of touch with reality, he is a Neocon who is dedicated to wasting vast amounts of our money on wars to support his corporate pimps, and he is an ignorant jackass calling Obama a Secular Socialist; Obama is neither, he is just a pathetic corporate whore just like the rest of them.

I think he should stick to commentary on the various tv networks, at least that way we have the power to turn him off with the push of a button.

Despite the things he may have done for the neo-conservative movement in the past, he will never be seriously considered as a presidential contender. He carries way too much baggage to have a shot at the Oval Office.

That is if you actually believe the American people have woken up. I think it could be possible, we will just have to wait and see.

He may be testing the waters, so to speak, but not much is going to come of it. He'll become an albatross around the neck of the neo-conservative movement based strictly upon his past personal behavior. He won't be able to effectively take up the moral platform not only because of the infidelity issue, but because of multiple ethics violations.

If anything, he's strong suit will be working behind the scenes. It's sincerely doubtful that he'll ever hold a high public office again.

I seriously doubt we are going to make it as a nation that long though.

They will start a war (a big one).

They will hyper-inflate the currency.

These are things countries do when they have been run into the ground by socialistic policies and unlimited "defense" spending.

To cover their tracks and divert attention from the failure of their economic policies, politicians start wars and inflate. History is clear. This is what happens. There is no alternative.
