Cat Stevens ....

the mods ever think about making a contest out of this avatar theme?

having members guess the theme or connection once in awhile?

So far, I'd think it would be pretty easy to guess the themes, hehe...so not really a contest there. Just for fun and team-building, or maybe as a first step in taking over the world...I don't know, I could have missed a memo or two...

fist step in taking over the world? team building.

i can go for that. once in awhile i've been known to exert some measure of empathy from time to time. Personally, i currently enjoy the luxuries of saying things and sharing thoughts not deemed appropriate for mods. I certainly realize the responsibilities and obligations may hinder the mods capability of enjoying their ATS in the same ways they did as members.
I'm all for a fun ATS, and one where the mods get to enjoy their ATS also.

i may not be a typical ovis aries,

We were hoping Gaz could salvage some of his good taste with a new avatar theme. Unfortunately we were wrong.

Peace

You're just jealous because Dr. Yankovic is a Genius in France and you're not.

This thread could get ugly in France.

Hopefully our friends in the Fifth Republic will give Weird Al a pass on the somewhat obnoxious and epithet-laden parody -- especially in light of his genius status and all.

But more importantly, that's the best Frank Zappa song Frank Zappa never wrote.

Bah...Weird Al is a genius. Thanks to him, I truly learned that yes, I am a complete Nerd (his video "White & Nerdy", is basically me, to a tee)..... My music tastes are all over the map. My usual quip is I like everything from Enya to Metallica. It all depends on what mood I'm in.

To be honest, I used to hate the "Arena Rock" music I grew up with, but even that has grown on me (i.e. 80's metal hair bands)...was more of a pop guy then. I even like old school rap (this new crap that doesn't even rhyme though, sucks...). Where is the skill in that?

Country and Jazz (and Musicals) are still about the only genres I just don't get...just don't do much for me...although even there, there are a least a few examples I could find to like.

OP!
WassRongWitchoo?
Star Trek rules!

While I'll admit, I may not be a true die hard Star Trek fan like most, I'm still a fan, but still, that youtube video of Mr Sulu and his aluminum foil hat wearing partner is somewhat disturbing.

Not a bad idea. But what if makes us become too obscure in our trying to out think the members?
