Following the president's response to the Gulf Oil Spill in which he was
widely-criticized for being unable to connect with Americans, the White House today
announced Obama would use 'emoticons' to convey Obama's otherwise invisible
feelings. Called a 'bold new initiative that combines technology and empathy' that no
previous president has tried, an 'emoticon' indicating the president's real-time
emotion will now be digitally represented during Obama's speeches.

for so many years i've always said, 'they treat us like children'.
this is absolutely pathetic. so far this is the only link or article i can track down. if the story goes further i'll add more links. i have my doubt in ways, due to the fact that i assume this emoticon issue will, in the long run get more play than obama's robot like persona.

Every time i see a little smiley pop up when obama speaks i am going to respond with a smiley of my own.

It is now clear that they view us all so unintelligent that we need Pixels and artwork to understand what the government is trying to explain to us.

I believe this is how it will go down.

"We need to send more troops to the middle-east"

"The Economy is steadily recovering"

"We shall work tirelessly to ensure the freedoms of American citizens"

Is this true? This is just stupid. We dont need to know his emotions anyway while he gives a speech. Hopefully his tone and words would be able to convey that to people. If this is true I am gonna be bummed.

This page has a post on this very topic referring to the site as a new satirical site in line with 'The Onion'.

Reading the Biden story directly underneath the story I am going for humor story. Especially when the story refers to Biden's pants splitting to reveal his "red polka-dotted boxers."

That photoshopped picture of Obama with the "Restrained Concern" smiley made me LOL.

Great piece of satire. I can't believe people fell for it.

In my own experience, the VAST majority of Americans ARE that stupid. Of course, it s self-fullfilling prophecy when the media are told to keep their reporting at a fifth grade level.

Bush was actually MORE popular because he spoke fluent stupid. Obama constantly gets criticized for being bale to actually think on is feet and use big words.

Maybe you and your friends are smart, but most americans are DUMB. Go hang out at the local redneck bar, or getto side show, or whatever. our public schools have been defunded into uselessness and americans know more about lindsay lohan than their state senators.
