Ufo/Alien Religion

Hello Fellow ATSers i have come to the conclusion after a very in depth thought processs i've been having all day that Ufology is a Religion.

The Modern day Sightings that we get act as to me what looks like a conversion tool, each day more come over to boast thier beliefs, Thier is no hard evidence.

A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Well me meet nearly all of the Definition so shouldnt someone be setting up a church.

Kind Regards
True-seer

I've never expected to say this in my entire life, but: I'm proud to be a part of a religion!

I'd say I was "Visited" and you can take that any way that you want.

I was led to the conclusion:
Covenants are with the destroyer.
Constitutions come from the creator.

It most certainly is a new age, modern day religion. I don't find it an admirable thing either: just another mode of human credulity.

Please see this thread, which was only posted a few days ago but says basically the same exact thing you are trying to say:
ATS thread equating UFOs to religion

I suppose my question to you (and it is a hypothetical one) is this:
If you saw something floating in the sky in broad daylight that you could not explain, would you classify yourself as:
1) Converted to a new belief system, or
2) Witness to an elusive but REAL phenomenon?

Yeah, I dont have anything to do, so I enter threads and say lies

come on, I just said that this is the second thread I read about the same subject, not with the same title off course, I dont know if it was in the same category

but it was about the relation between religion and ufology, and I posted in it

Beliefs in "UFOs" no different from "religious beliefs"

I thought it was almost the same title ... off course it wouldnt have the same title, otherwise you would have to to call paranormal detectives to find out why 2 persons would do 2 threads with the same title in a time span of 24 hours in the same board

I think they thought there was a "Mother Ship" following the comet.

Church of Contact we should name it!

Trying to define "religion" is like trying to define what "life" is. Stay away from it , no one knows or can come up with a single definition that encompasses the nature of the word.

Yeah , it is a religion to think that one knows what these objects are and / or their purpose. Actually it is more of just an unsubstantiated belief. However the evidence that there are actually unidentified objects out there of , as yet , unknown origin is a totally rational opinion. If your idea of irrational, which I think this thread shows , then the answer is no.

If one wishes to study the phenomenon of UFO's what constitutes that to be religious in any sense of the word?

When someone follows a belief system in, say UFOs, `religiously` and makes money off of these blurry photos and videos and eyewitness accounts, you've got a religion! I think Scientology is one of them - UFO and such.
