LOS ANGELES, Calif. - An earthquake struck Southern California Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The magnitude-5.9 quake was centred 28 miles (45 kilometres) south of Palm Springs, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It struck at 4:53 p.m. (2353 GMT).
A Los Angeles County sheriff's spokeswoman said there have been no immediate reports of major problems.
