Do you not know anyone who doesn't agree with your opinions?

Should I disavow my own father????

Didn't personally attack your character at all, unless you consider someone pointing out the very strong potential of hypocrisy to be a character attack. I know (and associate with) lots of people who don't agree with my opinions. Then again, I'm not the one who started this thread trying to attack a man over working for a person who's beliefs seem to go against his own. Re-read your very own opening post, David. Re-read it with the comment:

Do you not know anyone who doesn't agree with your opinions?

still on your mind.

As for your "but I'm not a millionare with my own TV show" comment, bah! Unless you are attempting to justify something tangible, such as a penniless man stealing some bread so he and his family can eat vs a wealthy man stealing bread, moral fiber is moral fiber regardless of the size of your wallet. I'm not criticizing you for working for a man who doesn't share your views, I'm criticizing you for criticizing another man for doing exactly what you seem to be doing. I do not know if you are a Christian or are versed in CHristian teachings, but Jesus Christ once said "Remove the beam from your own eye before you attempt to remove the speck from another's eye." To paraphrase the Lord: "Don't point out somebody else's indiscretions when you yourself are doing the same thing." I just found it to be steeped in irony that you were trying to paint Beck as doing this very thing... bending his principles to collect a paycheck... and in turn we discovered that you're in that same boat yourself.

Actually it is important to look back and see what has happened before. Most people in the US live in a little bubble not seeing how the past comes back to haunt the present. Like Afghanastan or Iraq happened in a bubble. Heh like the education in the US equips anyone with the ability to actually think let alone actually give facts! Or at least facts without furthering a agenda.

Hey, another great Commie connection can be found with the Koch Family:

Stalin’s first Five Year Plan was just kicking into action a nation-wide industrialization effort, and the Soviet planners needed smart, industrious college grads like Fred Koch. The Soviet Union was desperately trying to increase its oil refining capacity, so oil engineers were especially in high demand—and well paid, too.

“We are the world’s greatest market, and we are prepared to order a large amount of goods and pay for them,” Joseph Stalin told an American journalist in 1932. Stalin wasn’t kidding. From 1926 to 1929, the Soviet oil industry bought $20 million worth of equipment from America. And Koch was about to get in on the action.

The Soviet oil planners were delighted with Koch’s refineries, which “operated commendably, and would in the future be the type preferred by the heads of the Soviet Union’s petroleum industry when purchasing new cracking equipment.” The Communists were so impressed they kept giving Winkler-Koch business and regularly sent Soviet engineers to train in Wichita. It was a sign of growing mutual trust.

By the time he got out in 1933, Koch earned $500,000, which was a ton of money for a kid fresh out of college. This nut of money served as the foundation for the family’s future wealth, which Koch no doubt started acquiring at rock-bottom prices. After all, 1933 was one of the two worst years of the Great Depression—all assets were priced to go at 90% off. In the end, the capitalist-hating socialists ended up treating Koch fairly, way better than the monopolistic thrashing he got from his native land.

A People's History of Koch Industries

Now, ol' Fred came back from the Soviet Union as rabid an anti-communist as the Cold War era ever saw... though he didn't express these views until the 1950s when he became affiliated with the great loony bin that is the John Birch Society.

It's just funny, considering that the money built on the Soviet Union - Koch Family Industries, and the Koch Family Foundation - became the ultimate philanthropists of right-wing movements... including the pro-free markets, anti-big government Citizens for a Sound Economy. The CSE was chaired by Dick Armey, and...

In July 2004, CSE announced it was merging with Empower America to create FreedomWorks.

Citizens for a Sound Economy

Now, this is important, because FreedomWorks astroturfed the Tea Party Movement.

Just a fun historical note!

Lol David, I thought you of all people knew I had a little one. Almost 2 years older than yours. And I've had my battles associated with her, as well. The state really does own us all, and they love to show their strong arm when it comes to our families.

Thanks for sharing why your views have changed, as far as political ideology. Sad to find out that they're all fake, and not working in our favor.

Maybe this should be in u2u but I am scared to death of my little one not growing up with the freedoms I had.

To keep on topic, loved Burdman's posts, as usual.

And it had bothered me for some time, finding out who is in control of everything we watch. Everything we see when we are out and about (corporations and their influence, etc).
It's no surprise they'd have an influence on what we consider "success" and what we strive to achieve/buy. Shame it's not compatible with getting the most time possible with family, while on this earth.

This powerful American friend of communists is, of course, Rupert Murdoch — the man who signs Glenn Beck's paychecks. Don't hold your breath waiting for a Beck exposé.

I would say Glen just don't bite the hand that feeds him. Also, communist or not, that is simply a political thing anyway, Glen Beck, love him or hate him, has slowly been exposing a great many things on his show. He has made the connections I could not make, and it all points to a Military Industrial Complex/International Banking Cartel/New World Order of Fascism.
