No he wasn't. If he wasn't forcibly doing it, that's not harassment, God gave people a neck so they could look the other way.

You're going to say that this wasn't harassment?

Regardless of the setting, it's still not illegal, it's just distastefull.

You DO NOT have the right to NOT be offended all the time. There are some messed up people in the world, your job is to deal with them.

What are we all surprised there are creepy old dudes with weird fetishes?

~Keeper
True , I don't have the right to not be offended. I also have the right to explain whats rght and wrong to him, he shouldn't be offended with his teeth on the curb either, as the lesson progresses. seroiously the people who are defending this jerk may need to reevaluate their own life lessons and upbringing........and we wonder what's wrong with the world.

Ofcourse, I'm the one who needs to re-evaluate myself cause I don't jump on the " eww he's gross, let's hurt him" band wagon.

Yeah..

That's right you do have the right to express YOUR opinion about what's wrong and what's right with anybody you choose.

Doesn't make you right, and doesn't make you any better than that guy.

For the record, I'm not defending his actions, I think it's gross and probably would have given him a piece of my mind as stated earlier.

I just don't see why everybody is getting all foamy mouth and expressing the need for violence.

So unnecessary.

~Keeper
Enough people quit standing up for whats right and have trusted the liberal courts for too long. When do his disgusting things he's doing now turn to involving other people? Swift action now would prevent further action from him...he likes sucking on things in public, let him suck his food through a straw the rest of his life.

Exactly.

He wasn't touching them, he wasn't doing anything put seemingly enjoying himself in the parking lot.

There was nothing which was FORCING these women or people from looking at him, or having to deal with him at all.

Right, so because YOU got offended, this person needs to be removed from society and physically harmed?

I'm kind of offended by the things you said, are you deserving of physical punishment or incarceration because I don't agree with you?

Yeah, your a real compassionate guy aren't you?

Children say that darnest things..

I think you underestimate the difficulty involved in looking away from a waving dildo in a gas station parking lot. But, hey, maybe I'm overestimating the difficulty.

Let me try this again.

What about the people NOT defending him but...

ADVOCATING RESPONSIBLE PARENTING?

Do you really think you will have a more positive influence on your 7 year old daughter by...

A) Blowing it off or BSing it away and leaving the scene?

or

B) Getting out of your car, explaining to this man what is wrong, dragging him from his vehicle by force, and curb stomping him in front of her?

Seriously. I am really asking this question. Anyone?????
Responsible parenting....sounds like he could have used some however. Blocking his vehicle, taking my daughter inside and having the clerk watch her while calling 911 then going out and correcting him would be responsible parenting. I have a right to defend my children from people like him, and would have no proble doing sso Let me ask you a question. I was in a Burger King in 2003 andwitnessed a man hit a 2 year old in the face for throwing french fries. He hit the child so hard it knocked the high chair over. I beat the living hell out of him before the police got there. Was that responsible parenting? The interesting thing is, not one otherr person in that restaurant said a word or did anything......is this what we've become? No, I think I'll stand up for what's right and not what some liberal pervert judge says. There is right and wrong, and for far too long now, it's been ignored.

I'm gay friend, and use to frequent the fetish scene in my 20's, trust me it isn't very difficult at all for me to overlook somebody waiving a dildo...

Like I said, it's gross, I certainly would not want my kids seeing something like that, but the fact is he was within he rights to do what he wanted, even if we don't agree.

The first rule of keeping your rights is to defend them even for those you don't agree with.

All you people who think that this guy is a decent & honorable citizen of society, please allow me to ruin any chance of you to design & copyright a lollypop dildo.

Now, it's logged as my idea so I can sue you if someone decides that this sicko needs any help doing this again since it's obviously legal to simulate oral sex in public.

Look away from him, you say?
This guy is an obvious train wreck & we all know it's impossible to turn away from a train wreck.
Also, when is it not considered responsible parenting to take your child to a public place? I guess since the pervs now know it's not illegal to do this in public, I guess the responsible thing to do is keep them at home so they won't be subjected to the normal behavior of sexually depraved sickos.
Yeah, great.

You obviously have never raised a child because reasons to make up lies comes up far too often. Or when passing roadkill do you stop and take the time to explain death to a 5 year old? How about when your 4 year old walks in on you being intimate? Do you take the time to explain it all in detail and be honest about what mommy and daddy are doing?

Lying to your kids is sadly part of raising one. Try it.

In a perfect world, mom should not have to make up any lies to tell her child but this is not a perfect world and if that is the toughest question that little girl has ever posed mom in her 7 thus years, they need a freaking show!

As far as making oral sex awkward in the future, um yeah. Let me see - 7 year old is confused about man with something in his mouth and mom blows it off. vs waiting around for cops to make a scene. Which one do you honestly think is going to leave a lasting memory? Do you remember every inane thing you asked your parents about? The answer is no because if you did, it would not have happened.

Congrats on never having a pet die before you were old enough for that talk.

Mom could have easily diffused the situation and removed the little girl without it having to leave any lasting memory at all. Unless there is some fixation on oral sex already would be indicative of a far great problem at home.

Seriously, do you think that calling the cops helped this little girl NOT be traumatized by this more than mom making up something and leaving would have?

Sometimes as a parent, you have to make a tough call and decide what is more important. Standing up loudly for something you feel is wrong or considering the net effect on your child of the actions you decide to take?

ETA:

Okay, yes, "exposed to sexuality" was way the wrong way to put it. But if you'll actually stop and THINK, you'll understand what I meant. Because he was SUCKING ON AN ARTIFICIAL PENIS.

[edit on 7-7-2010 by Solasis]

Again, that falls to your mindset.

his mouth a long, cylindrical plastic sex toy commonly referred to as a dildo

Either you have never seen how unlike a penis most dildos actually look or your penis should be in a museum.

In that example friend, I would have beat that guy into the curb as well.

Those are two completely different scenarios.

First off, not a child and not a keyboard tough guy. neither am I some liberal jackass with no morals defending this sicko. Secondly, you have a right to be offended, however,I don't think you want to try what you are suggesting. I don't have to be compassionate when it comes to people like him, or you, you're both in the same class.....you don't happen to work for the ACLU or something do you...seems you get off on stuff like this?

ohh your so tough! Look at you and your strong moral compass. What would we do without folk like you around to set us straight eh? .

Look guy, I don't care who you think you are, or how morally righteous you think your are, your no better than anybody in this world, and the fact that you think you are is kind of sad.

Ah well, at least I stand up for what I believe in and don't go along with the rest of the sheep because some judge saisd it was o.k. If you won't take a stand for something you believe in, that's your right too, and yes, that does make me a better person.
