There is corruption everywhere. It is an epidemic. The Catholic Church is one place were it is found, but one can find it in law enforcement, the
judiciary, and government. It is a good thing that this was brought to law enforcement by the archdiocese. They could have handled it internally as
they have before. This institution has been rocked by scandal and has been under massive scrutiny by the general public, law enforcement, and
government. Another scandal for them is probably not a good thing. However, they chose to take the right path on this one. It is a shame that a priest
stole all that money from charity and his parishioners. His lewd behavior is another problem, but thank goodness he was partaking in that behavior
with consenting adults.
You bring up celibacy, but it has no bearing on this incident as far as I am concerned. In fact it is rather minor, and that is something between the
priest and God. The fact of the matter is, this priest committed grand larceny and stole from people in need. No doubt much of that money was to be
used for charitable endeavors. Some that money went for vacations, fine dining, and other bourgeois activities. Acquisition of male escorts is only
part of the fraud partaken by this thief. As for Christians being the most vocal opponents to homosexuality? That is another misconception, Judaism
and Islam are also vocal opponents of the activity as well. You can find hypocrites and wolf's in sheep's clothing everywhere. There is a saying:
"Those who live glass houses should not throw stones." Good thing this scum is going up the river.
