Israeli sniper faces Gaza manslaughter charge

"The Israeli military has announced it will charge an army sniper with killing a person during the Gaza offensive, when hundreds of Palestinians died.

It found there were grounds for trying the staff sergeant for manslaughter in a military court.

Evidence was found that the soldier had opened fired as the victim walked with a group of people waving a white flag.

So far, Israel has only penalised two other soldiers for their actions during Operation Cast Lead in 2008-09."

Jerusalem (CNN) -- An Israeli soldier faces a manslaughter charge in the death of a Palestinian waving a white flag during a three-week incursion into Gaza, the Israeli military said Tuesday.

Bah Israel is only doing it to appease humans rights organizations and the media. One of the soldiers jailed for his actions in Operation Cast lead was www.ynetnews.com... I remember reading a sickening story about the IDF shooting a wheelchair bound man with a white flag attached to it and then running over his body with a tank...This was not in operation cast lead, but it just shows how much they care about them...

He is being tried for "manslaughter" when he should be tried for murder. He will, if convicted, get perhaps 6 months.

There are a a lot...i should say a hell of a lot of sickening thing happening right now around the world...just look at N.Western sudan,absolute nightmare...though hardly mentioned in the news. I can understand why people would bring such disgusting situations up in regards to Israel, but the fact remains that they are illegally occupying territory and yet receiving more benefits than any other country in the world. American has spent more Arming Israel in the past 40 years than it has giving aid to the whole of Africa in the past 100 years...think about that for a moment. And the majority of that money goes to corrupt puppets. keep a nation on it's knees with a dysfunctional power hungry government, much easier to rape and pillage resources....
