It's called a bigot.

Although I like vast reaching terms usually. Idiot works just as well to be perfectly honest.

And what exactly is bigoted about talking about how one ethnic group has no intention of integrating into the community around them? Or talking about how they play the race/religious card when ever something is not to their liking? Or talking about how our government just sit there appeasing instead of trying to actually fix these problems?

This is not just a DailyMail story but is all over my local news. Walsall is just 4 miles from here with alarge asian pakistani/indian community but not as large as the white community who pay the most council tax yet get no special treatment... The people around here are just sick to death of our taxes being spent to appease minorities whilst jobs and public services are being heavily cut.... One rule for EVERYONE or piss off... My 2 pence.

more than likely a group of white women could of complained till the cows came home, and would have been ignored!

Well apparently reading is difficult for some on ATS, so I'll help out.

A spokeswoman for Walsall Council said the complaints had predominantly come from the Muslim community but that non-Muslim women had also objected.

She said: 'We received a request from the Muslim Community to protect the modesty of swimmers.

'There were also requests made by some non-Muslim users as well.'

Oh, what's this?

There were also requests made by some non-Muslim users as well.

Just making sure you people can read this, so I made it nice and big for you since you can't seem to read.

I find it rather suspicious that a news article would highlight the fact that Muslim's tried to get the change made, even putting it in the title, even though it wasn't just Muslim's that tried to do this.

Because that changes everything with this story and turns many posts that are borderline idiotic to full fledged, balls to the wall stupid.

I don't deny the fact that Europe is practically being taken over, but if it is really that big of an issue wouldn't using something....I don't know....factual...be better for your argument instead of misconstruing a news article that was clearly written a certain way so that certain people with a certain inability to read thought a certain thing?

I would have to agree with you on this issue. While it is not enjoyable having these feelings, I see a lot of Muslims in this country who corner themselves off from the rest of this society. I had Muslim friends when I was younger. They were moderate and mingled with the rest of us. Those are not the ones I mean. I'm talking about the ones who have absolutely no intention of intergrating and don't learn the launguage, costing us far more than it should for translation costs.

But that is not what this thread is about, so I shall say no more on that particular part.

Someone raised a very good point, that if it was only white women who complained they would have been ignored. I agree with that to a point, but I would like to replace white with non-muslim. This isn't an issue of colour, but of giving in to religious practices more than people would like, or feel comfortable with. I am very uneasy mixing religion with the imposing of little "rules" like this one, because they only serve to seperate communities that little bit further.

I'm sure that back in the 1700s there were tribes of Native American Indians who had tribal chiefs that counselled against causing trouble with the strange white visitors, citing that we were all children of the Great Sky Spirit and that to offer us anything but friendship and help would be wrong.

That was shortly before we murdered their children, gave them blankets infected with smallpox, and took over their ancestral lands.

The only difference is that a hundred years from now the Muslims won't apologise and let you build some casinos.

Well said, it's the separatist Muslims who refuse to integrate into the society in which they choose to reside that are the problem, not all Muslims.

And what about the wish of the people who didn't want the windows covered up? (from the OP story):

But other users say the move has plunged the pool into almost permanent darkness and branded it 'political correctness gone stark-raving mad'.

Pauline Poole, 65, a retired legal secretary from Walsall, said: 'I returned to swimming after having a cataracts operation some months ago and was looking forward to looking out on some lovely trees while swimming.

'What I found was a situation that reminded me of how it felt like before my operation, like looking at a horrible cloudy view.

'If it was done for a minority of people, then why was there no vote on it?'

Retired building surveyor John Ewart, 63, from Walsall, added: 'I cannot believe this council has agreed to something so loony.
The woman who had cataract surgery doesn't seem to like it very much.

Thank you for helping me with word finding.

I'm still concerned, and still trying to figure out the technique used to for such powerful brainwashing, I might use it also to create an army of bigots.
