I've always had a hard time understanding how people could vote for someone that pledges to raise their taxes.

The latest scam to rob you by force:

Democrats Push for New Internet Sales Taxes

The halcyon days of tax-free Internet shopping will, if Rep. Bill Delahunt gets his way, soon be coming to an abrupt end.

Delahunt, a Massachusetts Democrat, introduced a bill on Thursday that would rewrite the ground rules for Internet and mail order sales by eliminating the option for many Americans to shop over the Internet without paying state sales taxes.

At the moment, Americans who shop over the Internet from out-of-state vendors usually aren’t required to pay sales taxes. Californians buying books from Amazon.com or cameras from Manhattan’s B&H Photo, for example, won’t be required to cough up the sales taxes that they would if shopping at a local mall.

Does anyone here think using violence to extract a cut of the loot for goods purchased over the internet is a good thing?

Does anyone here feel they are too stupid to spend their own money?

Does anyone here think the State will spend your money for you better than you can spend it yourself?

By the way, I absolutely love the Orwellian bill title ""Main Street Fairness Act"

Kind of like the Patriot Act - you're obviously not a patriot if you don't vote for it.

Maybe...because they pay for things that the public has to use.
I don't know, just a wild guess.

If I could use all the things taxes pay for at my leisure, I might agree.

However, if I attempted to jump in a Raptor and take it for a spin, I'd probably be shot.

Since I paid for it, I should be able to at least use it you'd think.

How about that 23.7 trillion in bank bailouts? I should get a cut of that. I want my cut.

Lets see what my share of the bailouts should come to.

Figure 23,700 billion in banker bailout loot, divided by roughly 200 million tax paying citizens, I should get about 118 thousand in cash back to me.

I figure a check for 118 thousand is about what I'm entitled to.

Sir please.

Without government putting a gun to all of our heads, roads would not exist.

Clearly it is impossible for roads, schools, healthcare, cars, housing, food, clothing, etc.etc.. etc.. to exist without government.

Personally, I'm donating all of my guns to the IRS.

What violence is the big, bad government using on you?

Does anyone here feel they are too stupid to spend their own money?

Some people are.

Does anyone here think the State will spend your money for you better than you can spend it yourself?

On social welfare programs that I vote for? Yes.

I came across a curious story recently about California...yes, the state where you can vote for your own property tax increases, which no one has ever voted for. People are complaining about social services being cut as a result of the debt the state has incurred, likely due to this little tax issue.

Since some of you are so fond of quotes and soundbites, here's one: "Americans will accept socialism, just not the label." My little addon to that, 'or the taxes.'

Once you accept a social safety net you must also accept your share of responsibility to allow that safety net to work. It's a SOCIAL safety net, not a personal one.

mnemeth1, I already know your feel you have no responsibility to anyone but yourself and possibly your immediate family, but that's it. There are people who feel a responsibility to themselves and EVERYONE around them.

Yeah, I'm a selfish prick because I don't like it when I'm robbed at gun point.

If I wanted to donate to charity, I'd donate on my own. I don't need a gun held to my head in order to get me to donate to charity.

You on the other hand advocate violent brutal action against innocent people in order to rob them of the wealth and property they have rightfully earned.

What guns you ask?

www.examiner.com... mptions

“House health care bill dangerously expands IRS power,” say a tax law professor and GOP leaders. The Washington Examiner says that “16,500 more IRS agents” will be “needed to enforce Obamacare.” That’s “the biggest expansion of the IRS since World War II,” needed to “to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses.”

www.thefirearmblog.com...

By now you have probably heard about the news that the IRS is buying Remington 870 shotguns. Why? Who knows. I have never heard of a government tax collection agency arming themselves. Regardless of the social issues associated with arming tax collectors, you must give those accountants some credit: they know how to choose a decent gun. The IRS Shotgun (as it shall know be known on TFB) is pimped-out 14" short barreled Remington 870. It is similar to the Remington MCS Tactical Entry/CQB Shotgun (pictured below).

If robbing people is the right way to go, how about we just disarm all people that work for a living and allow everyone that's a social degenerate to have a gun?

This way they can rob us all at gun point and we wouldn't have to have the IRS as a middle man.

It's odd to see a thread like this in this type of forum.... surely most, if not all, of the folks on ATS have woken up to the left/right paradigm scam

OP,

Why do ATS posters generalize?

I think you can answer for yourself.

Hmmm...I'm not sure. why do republicans love war against people in small, poor countries that have 2% of the air force we do?

I guess those taxes have to pay for the BILLIONS spent in Iraq

Democrats love taxes because they do not pay them. It's a ruse. Being pro-tax against the evil rich folks earn them votes.

I just want to point out something. Bill Clinton, when he was governor of Arkansas, donated clothes to charity. Good, yes? For sure! But he got his tax deductions from his clothes that he donated. Just saying...........

Before someone says, where's the link? I just want to say, weren't you paying attention in the early 1990's? Search for your own damn link.

And now I will be off on another rant. Over that last 20 years or so, I have listened to the sound bites from many Democrats complaining about how their taxes were not high enough. But never have I heard about Democrat politician putting the money where the mouth is.

Who was that guy who said he earned millions upon millions of dollars and he paid less taxes than his secretary. That is not an indictment against thge rules of the IRS. That's an indictment against himself. He chose to take the deductions and tax breaks. He could have refused it all. But he claimed this was a reason he needed to be taxed more.

Just send a bigger check to the IRS, and don't worry about what other people are doing. I didn't care for Jimmy Carter when he was the POTUS, but he did claim that he paid more taxes than were required of him. That's cool., for sure.

The Democrats, just like the Republicans ,appeal to stupid people. In the Democrats' case, they choose to make taxes a big deal, as in rich people need to pay more. They play upon people's jealousies, and point their fingers at Republicans who are rich. Meanwhile, the rich Democrats don't pay more in taxes than they absolutely have to. And the Republicans use the tax crap, too. Less taxes, less taxes, less taxes. The Democrats want to take more of you money. lol

Oh, they tossed me a bone. The Democrats toss a bone, too.

Forgetting all that, though, Democrats seem to really believe that spreading the wealth through taxation works. It doesn't And unfettered capitalism, that the GOP, and I refuse to consider these asshats as Republcans and conservatives, seem to believe that all is well if rich folks keep most of their money, becuse it creates a strong economy. They are wrong, too.

Because there is no longer any sort of humanitarian consderation in either party. Soak the rich. Screw the poor.

Spreading the wealth through legislation doesn't work. Nor does ignoring economic problems and hoping people will do the right thing, work either.

There's got to be some sort of awakening of the subjects, and I do mean subjects. to take control of the government of the people.

Meanwhile, Democrats will continue to tax even when economic experts tell them they are wrong.

Economics is really simple. It's all based upon human nature. But people that want to achieve a differwilent outcome that is unnatural to human nature will make up new theories.

Did I answer your question, OP? lol

heh. I wonder that, too. But I also wonder why the POTUS. Lincoln, a darling of both major parties. wamted tp kill smaller and less nourished white people. And I wonder why FDR wanted to imprison citizens of the U.S. just because they were of Japanese heritage. And I wonder why LBJ wanted to decimate a country of no major significsense to the world at large, wanted to send thousands of young Americans to die in a useless war. I wonder about a lot of things, and foremost in my mind is why does it not matter who or what party the POTUS is of, are we still fighting bullcrap wars, against brown people?

In all seriousness, wake up. It doesn't matter the major party in power, this stuff will continue. Same crap, just a different face above the podium with the seal of the POTUS on the front.

All the rich people keeping their money works when the rich people aren't making it through bailouts, subsidies, and government contracts.

Most of the rich bankers in America would be broke today if the government let the market do its job.

Of course, that would be ridiculous.

Who punishes bankers more, the market or government?

Who pays more in taxes as a percentage of income, bankers or working stiffs?

Welfare for the rich is just as wrong as welfare for the degenerates who can work but chose not to.

none of you, rich or poor, deserve my money without doing something to earn it.

I'm sure your tax returns are rife with itemized donation deductions. That is, if you even file...for all we know, based on your postings and your general stance on the topic you could be one of those 170 million who don't bother to pay but will complain day and night about how someone is 'stealing' your money and giving it to all those welfare leeches.

You on the other hand advocate violent brutal action against innocent people in order to rob them of the wealth and property they have rightfully earned.

If you don't necessarilly enjoy being a citizen of the United States you could always go to one of those nice Carribean islands...or just realize you are a member of modern society.

What guns you ask?

I don't specifically remember asking about guns. If you're afraid of the IRS going all Waco on you, that's your perrogative. Just pay your taxes like those of us who actually do work and do feel some level of responsibility to those around us.

If robbing people is the right way to go, how about we just disarm all people that work for a living and allow everyone that's a social degenerate to have a gun?

That's your idea, not mine...but if you've already got a gun then we're halfway there, right?

So, in further response to your topic, I, as a democratic socialist, LOVE my taxes...especially when they go towards appropriate social programs.

I think you are confused.

I'm the one advocating personal responsibility here.

You are advocating handing off the responsibility to care for yourself to the government.

You are the one advocating violence here.

YOU

I'm calling for peace, you are calling for brutality against the innocent.

A civilized society is a society that operates without violence against the innocent.

A civilized society involves voluntary cooperation, not brutal force.

When you go to a restaurant for a steak dinner, you expect to pay not just for the food, but to have it cooked for you, brought out to you, served to you, cleaned up for you, drink topped off, table wiped off, even when you pay the check and payment is taken from you without you having to get up. Meal-$50

Or

you could pay $8 for two choice NY strips and do all the work yourself.

This is similar to paying taxes in that most people don't want to have to pave their roads, police their neighborhoods, put out their house fires or educated their kids. There are lots of things I DO NOT want to have to handle on my own and appreciate my government handling it for me, and I am more than happy to pay my taxes to make sure it's taken care of.

Others like yourself want all these services, yet want to complain about paying for it.

I also like paying my taxes to fund IRS agents to lock up freeloading whiners like yourself.

Apparently you have read absolutely nothing I've written.

YOU are the one that doesn't want to pay for those services.

I'm willing to pay for what I use out of my own pocket.

You are the one coming in here demanding the government put a gun to MY head so YOU can use the services that YOU don't want to pay for.

You advocate violence and brutality.

You are an evil person.

BUT STAY off of MY ROADS, I paid for em and trespassers will be dealt with.

And I'm not a Democrat.
