I love your honesty here. I can certainly relate to it, too.

Do you really think the OP was ridiculing and condescending.

Read it with an open mind (which I know you can do) and I think you'll see how it sounds that way.

There are atheists on this site that are like nazi's.

And no religious Nazis?
All I'm saying is go ahead and state your beliefs, about atheism and about God or whatever. But don't act like atheists are bad and Christians are good. There are gems and rotten apples in every bunch!
It's not us vs. them, we're all in this together.

So, you think I'm an atheist?
You just naturally assumed that I was because I disagree with you, eh?
Thank you ever so much for proving my point exactly.
You might want to zip up...your ignorance is showing.

I wish I could give this post fifty stars.
It's never becoming to go around assuming things.

The fool says," there is no God" then comes death. then judgement.
I had no idea not believing in a mythological being was a fad, and something you can be duped into for that matter (yeah, facts and logic can do that to a person). In that case, is not believing in the Illuminati also a fad? Is not believing in dragons a fad too? Concerning your comment about being judged, I really couldn't care less. Even if your god does exist, I would have nothing to worry about, because i've done nothing wrong.

This is precisely why I have a problem with the concept of God as given in mainstream Protestantism. It implies that God will condemn people just for not believing in him. However, if God were really that concerned in people believing in him, he could certainly make his existence known to everyone (which he hasn't).

Therefore, I must conclude that God doesn't particularly care about whether or not folks believe in him. So, if judgement day is real, atheists probably don't have much to worry about, at least not just becaue they were atheists. It seems to me that a just God would judge people's actions, not their philosophical beliefs.

The words in that book came from the mind of a man who bleeds just like you do.

Fred Phelps probably knows it word-for-word and according to him, God hates you.

Can I ask why you want to call attention to the obvious? Of course there are it's so evident in quite a few of the Salesman for God (Peter Popov).
Please don't ever assimilate me in anyway with those people. I follow Christ.

Or I try to, whatever. That's all that really makes me a Christian.
I study the word by myself or with friends. The big congregations aren't for me. Church leaders hate people like me worse than anyone. I'm there worst threat by far. I believe you should get what God want's you to get from the Bible. Not what someone else want's you to get.

I'm not Catholic. I'm certainly no pastor. I simply feel there is a God.
I employ logic the best I can to that knowledge.
So from the outset of my acceptance, that there is a supreme being.
The first logical thing I should say to self is.
You know, if there is someone who can do all this, then he must be capable of communication somehow.
Unflawed communication.
There is simply nothing on Earth like the Bible.
No other religion has anything that even comes close to the Bible.
You can not like it, for this reason or that. Cherry pick some parts you do or don't really care fore.

I'm telling you all every one of you that come across this thread.
And read these words. That book is alive and yes I know how that sounds.
Believe me I'm only speaking the truth as I know it.
It is called the Living Bible for a reason.

Read it with an open mind (which I know you can do) and I think you'll see how it sounds that way

Oh and Ok I will do that. I will go back and read my own opener with an open mind.

K . Let me say first. That's not that easy to do!!!!
How do you go back and read your own propaganda with an open mind? That could be a new saying.

"That would be like trying to read your own propaganda with an open mind".
Oh sorry be'in silly again.

I will admit to as mush as a condescending ring to it. The part about
death not existing, was really directed at a few who, in the past found it
necessary to eliminate other things from existence not just deity.

I think it would be better said like this:

A Christian says, " I will die for what I believe".

The Muslim says," you will die for what I believe".

membrrane or

The words in that book came from the mind of a man who bleeds just like you do.

Really he bleeds and everything?
Wha? Fred Phelps? Who? I don't care about Fred Phelps. is he your neighbor or something ? Nope don't care.

Well, I think all three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) can take on the motto "You will die for what I believe," considering the massive body count in the old testament, and then the joys of the Crusades, Inquisition, and witch hunts. Nothing that came from Abraham is without massive amounts of blood on its hands.

You aren't allowed to fix a quote from Richard Dawkins, it's one of the rules of the universe.

Thou Shalt not Kill.
Thou Shalt not Bare False Witness to Sir Dawkins
Thou Shalt never question Stephen Fry.

The OP simply speaks truth.

Your response to the truth is your own and belongs to no one else.

Like it or not someday every knee, no exceptions, will bow to Christ.

Nice, I love the reply. Made me laugh on many levels. Although I would argue most of what Dawkins says needs fixing. '

You bare idolatry to a false god: The only true diety, the Great old one Cthulhu. Repent and pray for forgiveness, for when he awakens in the bowls of Ry'leth he will give mercy to his most loyal followers by destroying them first, and in the least painful manner. This is the truth, like it or not, no exceptions, The great Cthulhu will have you in the end.

See anybody can say that about any god, and there are thousands of them to pray to. In the end of the day, you believe in Christ, some people believe that Joseph Smith will be beside him in heaven, others don't. Some believe they will return to nature when they die, others believe aliens will resurrect them the next time Halle-Bopp swings by. Nobody knows, not you or I or anybody else. What's important is to enjoy life, not sweat the small stuff, love and care for one another and stop fighting for truths that we will NEVER KNOW until death, whether by sword or by pen.

I'm sorry, I can not let you forget what the main message of this thread is.
There can be only one truth. That's it. That's really all there is to it.
No matter how you pretend that isn't a big deal. It is a very big deal.
So with only one truth that means everything else is a lie.
The thread really is just a warning and a reminder. Take it or leave it . No big deal. Right!
