Is Santa Claus a TULPA? Have you ever seen Santa Claus?
Many children claim they have, the then back out later because of peer pressure. Last night on Coast to Coast AM, Joshua Warren talked about creating a thought form that acts like a ghost.

The first tupla he discussed was created by a group of paranormal investigators. They did a profile about him and talked about him as a real person. They named him Philip and after a while he actually started to manifest. He was a rather nasty form they had to discontinue. They also added features that were ironic, such as the lady is a ghost that had reincarnated. Warren invented a second tulpa, Golga a German lady, that was benign. Events manifested on their lab.

Tulpas are a from Tibetan mythology. Tulpas can gather enough energy to free themselves from the makers control. Tuplas usually have a specific purpose, but they may exist after the death of the maker. For more information read www.davisanddavis.org...

If you would like to participate in an experiment to make one, Warren will be trying in the near future.

What sort of applications could this be used for in our world?

Love the concept of tulpas. Is there any chance there's reality to them or the oft-repeated stories of supposed real-life creations of tulpas? No.

However, I think there is a relationship between the concept of a tulpa and the concept of mass hysteria. I think people jumping onto the bandwagon about a tulpa (or any other thing or concept) or about hearing stories of a supposed real tulpa does indeed encourage the belief in tulpas, fosters it and spreads it so that it does, effectively, take on a life of its own. But an idea having a life of its own amongst a receptive community is not the same as an actual living entity.

And adults who think that, as kids, they actually saw Santa Claus are #1) being silly #2) have mental issues outside of the mainstream (no judgement here!) #3) haven't come to terms with dad or Uncle Bob's late Christmas Eve activities - see #2.

Well, I never saw Santa. Dad threatened to shoot him if came on our property.

Do you remember the X-Files? They had a golem in one episode. I turned into a pile garbage at the end.

Tulpas, or 'Thoughtforms', have been offered up as a possible explanation for things like the Loch Ness monster, Mothman and the Cornish Owlman.

It is an interesting theory that if enough people want to, or are expecting to see some kind of paranormal creature then the power of thought alone is enough to bring it into existence.

I suppose Santa is a kind of paranormal creature in a way so perhaps the same rules apply!

I dont really subscribe to the theory myself, but it is the sort of thing you could easily experiment with. As you have pointed out others have done so with interesting results - although 'Philip' was a spiritual entity rather than a physical one which is significant.

Whats the process to creating said "TULPA'?
Id like a link to that, if at all possible.
Seems like a rather...interesting...experiment.

www.davisanddavis.org... doesn't really explain the rituals involved. If you would like, go to joshuapwarren.com and send an email, they are looking for people who want to participate in an experiment to creat one.

Creating a tulpa (or the western variant the servitor) is like programming the software for an AI whilst riding a bike to provide electricity to power the machine, it's not a simple feat. It takes a lot of knowledge of the human mind and a tremendous amount of faith, both are rare these days, especially when combined.

For that, I am most thankful. Imagine what sort of creatures some hot headed, short sighted, vengeful folks might create.

Exactly.

Those types of people may very well create subconscious "entities" that act to their own detriment, and possibly even those who are around them, without knowing it, however.

This is how the Kahunas of Hawaii teach consciousness. They divide human consciousness into 3 parts.

There is the conscious/logical thinking, the subconscious, and the super-consciousness which is over-arching over both the conscious and subconscious.

The subconscious is the relevant part here. Even modern sciences like NLP recognize that people do things without even thinking about it -- automatically. These are patterns pretty much hard-wired into our brains, which is why they come automatically, through behavioral repetition. The Kahunas say this part of our mind has the intelligence of a child about 2 to 6 years old generally, and remember that it can act of its own accord and without our rational, directed consciousness. This is what we do when we stumble around in dreams without being aware that we are dreaming, or when we are just going through life, going through the motions without doing original, rational thinking.

People can go into angry rages, be addicted to drugs or alcohol, or any number of things, because of subconscious urges, habits, conditions, etc. that over-ride the conscious mind and so people do seemingly very irrational things. These subconscious behaviors are seen as separate "entities" from the conscious mind even in NLP, like for example the "entity" that reminds you that you are hungry is separate from and competes with the "entity" that tells you to stay on the computer, and they are both separate and compete with the psychic "entity" in your mind that alerts you that you have to use the bathroom. Eating and using the bathroom are biological functions rooted in your physical body, but still part of your subconscious (Jung defined the subconscious as anything OTHER than your conscious mind in his technical definition -- including the external universe around you). However a recurring "habit" of staying on the computer surfing for information or news, or playing a game, is a different kind of psychological function, subconscious, that exists for better or worse.

Rational consciousness without subconscious has no memory. Remember, the Kahunas say your subconscious has the reasoning abilities of a 2-6 year old, usually. But your consciousness, without a subconscious, is like a ghost. It can think, experience its sensory organs (if there are any), and actively link ideas together that are available to it, but all memories are held in the subconscious. The relationship between the conscious and subconscious minds is in practice like a traditional male/female relationship, respectively.

It would take someone very experienced and knowledgeable to bring both of these together, as well as enough vital energy, to make an actual entity that has any physical correlation of any significance, that it can cause physical results, like the poster above said.

However there is nothing stopping anyone from creating all sorts of autonomous, self-propagating negative habits and addictions, and in fact this happens to everyone, apparently without any conscious decision whatsoever. They also lack the reasoning that would come with such an intentional, conscious decision, and are about as malicious as a 2-6 year old would be.

I think that we develop habits when very young through repetition. Some things we do "automatically" require more that 6 year old intelligence - driving to a familiar destination, or even typing without thinking of each letter. I must wonder when a child will has a parent who is always the optomist and one who is always the pessimist, by what means they chose the one perspecitive on live and not the other? DO they learn it from observation or are they predeterimined by genetics to have a given out look on life.
I am not sure that anyone can create another being though mind power. Perhaps we are just enlisting supernatural forces to accomplish a goal for us.

There is the possibility we are evolving beings who will one day mature into nonphysical beings and reproduce, creating new beings that will evolve through the same cycle as we do.

True, there might be many reasons why one is interested in such things but most of them involve a lust for power and would only invite evil.

Maybe Tibetans once created them for more noble reasons, tulpa's would be perfect guides or information carriers, left behind by the ancient masters to recite their teachings to future students knowing people can change the teachings to fit their own agenda, anything on paper can be altered or lost by the passage of time.

Well - No!

Santa is an old man giving gifts to polite children.

Be polite young man!

Santa probably started as a Shaman, and if he now has a form that resembles a tulpa then perhaps he achieved apotheosis.
