Hi guys! It depens on how you treat yourself. If you're a citizen of the world, than you care! I'm from Moscow, yes, in Russia, and I care much. I'm doing what I can do - gathering all the significant info, translating, and posting it to russian forums, with direct links, who can read in english. This is the example
www.webarmy.ru...

Here is the same story. Nobody knows, actually, what is going on. However, there is much in russian soul, to care about your neighbour.

Face it- it is human nature, to ignore that which does NOT hit us in the face (Cognitive Dissonance).
These people, WILL notice, whe gasoline is $25/gal, and food is hard to get! Oh, the'll scream for "action", THEN! And, FEDGOV, will CERTAINLY deliver "action". We'll get our POLICE STATE, Full Martial Law! Confiscation of supplies, for those of us smart & disciplined enough, to have "set-aside" supplies. (Don't worry- we WILL defend, what is ours!). THAT is one reason, we have our guns!

Good Luck, American patriots! May the God's Bless You!

No, it just goes to show who drinks all the milkshake.

It is incredible to me that some people proudly relate a multinational conglomerate with their country. As if they actually care about Britain.

I care, and i'm on the west coast. My fuel either comes from sinclair (first choice) or chevron (second and usually a far bottom choice)

I know all fuel places are evil, blah blah, but I do what I can in my sphere of influence. To the complainers: I don't care what you think! I do the best I can.

I refuse to even get a bottle of water/soda from a BP affilated station. Throwing money into their coffers won't help, like all their hook nose partners in crime they'll just gobble it all up, stash it in israel most likely then book for the hills so the government/taxpayers are forced to clean it up....

I do what I can in my sphere of influence..... if it has a BP logo on it, I don't consume/buy it!

Everyday I wonder if I would ever see the gulf clean again, or will it remain a toxic dump? I've got 80+ years of life left, figure I'll be telling grand kids when the gulf used to be clean and able to swim in (and what seafood was) or it is all clean? who knows anymore

I assume you're referring to boycotting bp gas stations. Boycotting the gas stations doesn't really affect the bp oil company as each gas station is privately owned. That being said, I am still boycotting all bp gas stations on principal. My hope is that the gas station owners COLLECTIVELY may be able to put enough pressure on bp or the federal government to get something accomplished.

I agree with you that most people don't seem to care but I'm on board. I am boycotting bp indefinitely. Gas is costing me an average of 10-17 cents a gallon more but I'm happy to pay the extra if it's even minutely possible that the loss will SOMEHOW reach bp oil.

We need people like you who will keep talking about it in as many forums as possible.
STARRED AND FLAGGED !!!!

Those that don't care are short sighted and don't see the big picture.

What affects one of us, affects all of us.

Most people like to think they are empathetic, but they're not.

This BP "incident" will, I fear, affect all of us, and not just here in America.

But all around the globe and for generations, it is that serious.

People seem to think they are somehow invincible but there's one law none of us can escape and that is the universal law of Karma. Karma is a bitch and it's safe to say a lot of ignorant people are about to meet it's acquaintance.

This is the basic attitude I have encountered. The only people who care at all are those in the immediate surrounding areas, the people who have oil washing up on their shores - others couldn't care less.

I can do you one better than that. I live in MS. When I bring up the subject of what is going on in the Gulf, recent news, changes...anything...I get people just shrugging it off. They live in this state, just 200 miles from a shoreline that is in eminent danger of being covered with this sludge and a body of water that we Mississippians have grown up swimming and fishing in and vacationing near. Yet, I get dumbfounding silence and dismissal at the very thought of bringing up the subject.

I am so pathetically sick of people and the human race at large right now. Less than a handful of people on this miserable rock actual give a crap about what is happening.

I dream more and more often by day and by night of just heading out into the deepest woods and setting myself up as a hermit away from people who care more about who has talent and the latest hollyweird trend than they do about an entire eco-culture being laid to waste by fat cat tycoons who care even less.

Pathetic.

The self indulged spoiled heathen doesn't care now. Yeah, but very soon they will be screaming, when their toys have been taken away. A big change is coming soon. They deserve everything they will get.

What the hell are you on about?

You've basically just backed up what I said in the line you quoted from me! BP is a multinational company, that was my bloody point, in as much as, why the hell is the US bitching about this and not working to sort it out, when the US has as much, if not more invested in BP as anyone else in the World?

Unbelievable...

bureaucracy, asocialisation, materialism, selfishness are all parts that

Unnoticed we all do this.

‘G’day All,

These people that are asleep to the whole apocalypse remind me of some animals in Africa, you see the animals will be standing around in the middle of a drought watching other animals dyeing because there is not a drop of water to be found, and when the rain dose finally come to brake the drought the animals will still just stand there in the rain and look like nothing has happen.
After the rain has stopped and after they have had a good drink, that’s when all of a sudden all the animal wake up like from a long sleep and start running around, jumping like they have gone mad.
These people that can’t see this oil apocalypse are those dumb animals standing in the rain still asleep to what’s going on around them.
WAKE UP!!!!!
Oh I like the bit about the crack dealer, so true. I’m taken my busyness else were, I do anyway after I heard they drove up the oil prices and stuffed up the little businesses here in Australia.

Blessed Be: Kernoonos..

I think they created a "moral panic" (see Stanley Cohen for an explanation of this phrase )with this oil spill ,it keeps people focused on something and they can manipulate the story .i.e manipulate you .

I posted this on another thread and as usual no response. Yes I am trying to rilethe Americans up. But your correct they don't care .

How pathetic that you alllow a corporation to take over your waters and to top it off a part of Arizona.

Everyone down there has a bitch but is too damn lazy to speak up. You don't wnat immigrants (Mexicans) in your country because they are taking jobs. Damn if they weren't there you would watch the fruit and vegatables go rotten because there isn't a TV in front of you.

I tavelalot in my business and once I am on anothercountries soil I see the dramtic differences. #1 Family still means something. In America family is a place you go when you have Pinned your credit card and can't pay for HBO

Here's my post there

Here Here!
I think every American should grow a pair and get this dealt with. Why oh why are you leaving a foreign corporation to clean this up.

Why oh why do none of you really truly know whats going on. Wow this blows me away!!!
I am so confused and disapointed in the Americans right now.

Don't come back on this post and say what can we do...... That's a total cope out.

It's not just your ocean its everyones!!

For a country that's always boasting about how great your are at this point like the OP's thread says everyones laughing at you.

NOT me I see nothing funny about this total Cluster F**k at all!

Get it together. Impeach, protest by the 100 million I don't care FIX THE LEAK Da**it!

Happy Canada Day ....We may be small but we have control of our government far more then you can ever dream about

Stop bothering me - I want to watch TV.

Seriously though, the US is morally bankrupt and degraded to the point of almost no return.

Most people don't care.

Boycotting BP wont do anything except bankrupt it so the spill will never be cleaned up.

My girlfriend just got back from Europe and they were all being apologists for Obama. Saying things like, "Oh, but he is doing everything in his power..." I think there might be some disinfo in the foreign press about Obama for one, and most likely the Oil Disaster as well.

If I had to wager a bet as to why other parts of the country or even the world are not informing (see educated) the people about the extent of this disaster is that BP is probably paying for a media blackout.

I know it sounds crazy, but that is the situation here in Louisiana. They are an uber-rich, lying, evil corporation. Straight up. They pump money into presidential candidates campaigns (www.reuters.com...), and get them to lay off. They pay PR people to rebrand them. They pay off the Coast Guard and turn Admiral's into corporate parrots. How? They are uber-rich. They are an international oil company. That's why people don't know to care. Not yet, anyway.
