Why are we so concerned about keeping this fragile economy going? Its a big black hole. You put money into it by spending, but what you get out of it is only a fraction of what went in.
Paying to keep the rich even richer because "Were screwed if we dont"
We are screwed if we do!

There are bound to be other rough patches as time goes on, the only thing that will change this is a change in money flow. Capitalism, this cycle of debt is serving no one. We cannot buy ourselves out of this so why are we trying?
You've seen it for yourselves, the media brag about "ressession" and then big bussiness go and announce "record profits" What aload of PSH.
If the economy fails this time we will inevitably suffer.
If it survives? No doubt the next generation will suffer.
Because as long as this system is in place it is a time-bomb waiting to go off.
So why the hell shoud we continue to try and buy ourselves out of this? We are doing nothing but PRESERVING AN UNFAIR SYSTEM THAT DOES.NOT.WORK.

There's a simple solution here.

Bring all the troops home and cut the defence budget by half.

I'm not sure of the REAL $'s in the budget, but certainly the "black projects" could be cut saving BILLIONS.

But then again, they don't exist.

I agree. You can't spend yourself out of debt by lining the pockets of the rich. Eventually it will all fail, the bubble will burst. Countries will all be broke, the rich will be richer.

It is a time for people to get self sufficient. The government wants you to keep spending, to "keep the economy going". When you've spent all your money on keeping the economy going, into corporate pockets, they're not going to be there for you.

But what about your own economics. Your budget. Time to get out of debt, grow your own food, back off on consumeristic behaviour, basically be self sufficient.

At least when the economy goes back into the crapper, it won't take you with it.
