Hi,

1. A bottle of Champagne
2. A bottle of great white wine (Le Montrachet?)
3. Two bottles of great red wine (La Tache?)
4. A dessert wine naturally....(D'Yquem?)

Not sure I'd have any worries....

Thats the way to go out my friend...Can't go wrong with a bottle of 96 D'Yquem!

Peace!

Fifteen pages into this thread, and still no End-Night menu from our OP?

I admit, I'm curious.

Well, being in the industry as well as being very passionate about food, this is fun for me. I believe I would choose food items that would trigger all the memories of things I enjoyed while I was here.

Because I would want to enjoy the flavor of my food, unaffected by any other flavors, as well as every last moment spent here, my choice of drink is water.

Side item number 1: vereniki filled with mashed potatoes. One may call it an entree but I'm pretty sure this falls under zakuski, which is russian for hors d'oeurve, or appetizer, or snack, etc. I call it russian ravioli. This would remind me of my present stage in life.

Side item number 2: bread and butter with the bread made of refined wheat flour. This would serve to remind me of anything and everything.

Entree: chicken spizzada. Essentially, this is chicken stock - no mire poix - with garlic and parsley over semolina pasta. This would remind me of my childhood.

Dessert: black tea with some Russian candies and a bottle of Dogfish Head vodka. I have to represent the local vodka - made with love.

Most importantly, this food must be consumed with family. What's the point in eating if you don't have anyone to share the food with and enjoy their company?

Ragazzo.

Just the meal? Not the environment? It does make the meal. But barring everything else: the company, the mood, the sounds, the sights, the smells (beyond the food), the atmosphere, and the state of mind...

0.) you forgot appetizers: habanero poppers.

1.) Three Floyds Dark Lord Stout and both Russian River's Pliny the Elder and Younger. Yes it is three, but the world ain't over yet.

2.) Buffalo burger with good bacon, bleu cheese, grilled onions, shiitake mushrooms on a homemade bun.

3.) Bbq shrimp from the gulf.

4.) Young's Chocolate Stout on a nitro tap with coffee gelato.

Ok since this is my last meal I can't just pick one of anything, so I have to have at least several different things.

Start out with some Tres Castillos, Anis Fino, Escarchado while I wait for my meal.

Small garden salad with spinach and lots of homegrown tomatoes, and the warm pumpernickle bread with butter from Outback for appetizers.

Main course a nice perfectly aged juicy T-bone from grass fed cattle. babyback ribs with tons of Jack Daniels sauce(man i wish I knew the recipe that TGIFriday's uses) and extra for dipping (I love that sauce) and some sesame chicken strips, of course with some more Jack Daniels sauce for dipping.

Sides; baked potatoe with the skin nice and crispy and tons of melted butter and sour cream and chives, sauted portabella mushrooms. I need to have ice cold pepsi (not from the fountain) with ice cubes with my meal.

For desert; OMG a Chocolate Stampede from Longhorns, talk about chocolate overdose, there's chocolate mouse on that cake
It is soooo good !

And after my meal lots of Mango Berry Margaritas, the slushy kind.

Sorry I didn't follow your guidelines, but hey it's my last meal I can't just have one thing from each category.

As a long time Executive Chef and restaurant owner, I love to talk food...shocker, right? Well, I thought it would be interesting to see what the ATS community feels would be a fitting final menu before the SHTF!!!

Lets keep it simple so what would be your...

1. Last drink of choice.
2. Last entree of choice.
3. Last (2) side items of choice.
4. Last dessert of choice.

Assume that there are no restrictions upon what you could eat, meaning any food from anywhere was available to you for consumption...call it one final gift from the culinary gods before you head off to the freezer.

I will hold off on my choices, so as not to influence anyone.
