hi. my name is john. i picked the name esoteric for many reasons, as there are many words to describe what esoteric can mean to many of us ATSers.

i picked the name "teacher" because to me it describes someone who simply shares information. god know teachers don't teach because they want to be rich. i think they all deserve a raise. at least babysitter wages for each student, or perhaps we should abandon the monetary system altogether and find a new kind of currency? i dunno.

but i am just as much a student on ATS as i am a teacher and i learned that within the first few months i was a member here on ATS just a few short years ago...

i have been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder associated with traumatic brain injury due to being too close to somethings that went boom in foreign places that were not too foreign to me.

From 1998 to 2009 i spent 11 years as a firefighter. A firefighter in the united states air force, that is. my "home base" was nellis afb in nevada, however i spent approximatly 3+ years in warzones. now i am honorably retired.

prior to my militant firefighter career i spent 11+ years working for/with skilled care developmentally dissabled children and adults and called illinois home.

i currently reside in illinois (my long & lat coordinates are currently under "location" on my avatar) and i call illinois home.

i learned about compound words from Mrs. Yates 30+ years ago in the 3rd grade. she taught us that compound words are formed from words/syllables that have meanings themselves.

who am i to call Mrs. Yates a liar?
