Is this a UFO?...Maybe?

This is from Nasa's SOHO site

The very latest SOHO images.
I regularly check out the site. Always saving images that stand out to me. The object, or just a camera glitch or whatever it's called, resembled a UFO. Atleast to me.

I thought I might show it to the community and see what some of you think.


I messed with the brightness and contrast and crop'd the object im referring too.

Thanks for any input in advance. To be clear im not stating this to be a UFO, just something that caught my eye and appeared to look like one. You never know, it could be though.

Quite and interesting thing you have there! Hmm! In my own opinion it looks a bit too oval to be a planet, but perhaps it's just distorted in the image? Or perhaps it is simply an artifact of the sun? I am not very sure!

I hope other users will have further information on this artifact so we can hopefully confirm what the object is!

Hey no problem. Glad you found it interesting. It could be anything really, but it would be pretty cool if it was some sort of craft/ufo.

is this image 512 or 1024 resolution? I tried to go to the latest image but it's not the same image how do you go back to this image?

As for the image it's the 1024, but I can also upload the 512, I saved them both just incase.

And im not quite how to go back to past images. Or if its possible. I'll do a quick search and see if I can find anything and get back to you asap.

Wow, that's pretty darn close to the sun.

They must have a helluva shielding system on that thing!

hi, i mean no offence but i have to agree with whisper67, the suns outer surface is 6000º celcius!!! nothing is getting near it without being instantly vapourised!!!!. im going with sun or lens artifact!.

It's true what you said. But if you think about it, if UFO's are real (Which I do Believe) and have incredibly advanced technology, then maybe it's possible for them, and there spacecrafts to achieve this aswell.

Where exactly is the object in question in the image?

I see something in the upper left part of the image almost touching the sun, something mid left, and something bottom left.

Middle left of the image. The first image (small one) is what it looks like.

No problem . Yeah could be, I've seen alot of images with wierd things around the sun, just that I noticed the resemblence to a UFO on this one and thought I get some opinions.

hi mate, i also believe there's probably intelligent life somewhere else in this vast universe, maybe they have advanced technology and maybe they dont! who knows! lol, but seriously i really doubt any advanced technology is getting anywhere near the sun and shielding against that sort of heat and radiaton!.

also i do agree that u.f.o's exist as in unidentified flying objects, you only have to look at a few pictures on here to see that there's plenty of fuzzy blurred blobs that nobody can identify, but that doesn't make them alien just because they can't be identified!. you need to separate the term u.f.o's from alien spacecraft as they are not necessarily the same thing! lol

That's just my guess, it could be anything really, space rock getting sucked in, some visitors who stalled out the craft and drifted too close.

I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night.

That doesn't look like anything the OP is referring to, its not on the sun it's off the sun

that thing must be the bigger than the planet earth, if it really was an object;

Im thinking it might be a meteorite vaporizing or a lens artifact
