MOSCOW (Reuters) - Moscow angrily rejected U.S. accusations Tuesday that Washington had cracked an undercover Russian spy ring, and said the Cold War-style cloak and dagger saga seemed timed to wreck a recent thaw in relations.

Linky Goodness

This will quickly become a hysterical game of tit for tat. How long before Maxwell Smart is sent to Siberia

Interesting take, however, by claiming that the timing of the arrests was meant to undermine the POTUS and his new found crush on Mother Russia.

Anywho, did not see this posted anywhere, fogive me if it was.

Hitler was a bastard lol, but I find the man very interesting.

I'm not fluent in Deutsch by any means but I love the language. Would be nice to head there someday to be around the native speakers.

To touch on your question though. Everyone has spies everywhere. The name of the game is to not get caught. It's one thing that we know every country has spies, but until they're caught they technically don't exist.

Just to reiterate what I said in my above post, ...

Russia and US Said to Be Planning Spy Exchange
A man jailed in Russia for spying for the CIA said he and unspecified others would be exchanged, his family said.

Igor Sutyagin was quoted as saying he expected to be put on flights to Vienna, then London, on Thursday.

Neither the Russian nor the US authorities have commented on reports of the swap.

Also on Wednesday, a court hearing in Virginia for three of the suspected Russian spies was postponed and orders were issued to transport them "promptly to the Southern District of New York for further proceedings".

No reason has yet been given for the transfer to New York, where the other seven suspects are in custody.

On Wednesday, the New York Times quoted sources close to the case as saying the federal government was seeking a rapid resolution.

'No choice'

Igor Sutyagin, a nuclear weapons specialist, is serving a 15-year jail sentence for passing information to a UK firm allegedly used as a front by the CIA.

According to his brother, Dmitry, he said he had been told by Russian officials that he would be released and sent to the UK in exchange for an unknown number of spies.

After Monday's meeting, the prisoner was reportedly moved to Moscow's Lefortovo prison.

Anna Stavitskaya, a lawyer acting for Sutyagin, told Reuters that her client had agreed to be swapped "as he had no other choice left".

Like I said in my other post, this sort of thing goes on all the time and won't cause any "damage" to US - Russian relations.

Business as usual.
