This just in!

The DailyKos is preparing to sue their pollsters Research2000 for fabricating the poll data they have been using "for years".

Now, I've never read the Kos, but if it is considered a mainstay of liberal reporting, I wonder how many liberals have been given the wrong impression about how people view what liberals in government are doing?

And are the democrats chances this November and in 2012 even worse than they've been led to believe?

article

In case you missed it, DailyKos founder Markos Moulitsas today revealed that he was preparing to sue Research 2000, which Kos has commissioned polling from for years. Kos said a trio of statistics experts dug into their polling and concluded that much of the polling "we ran the past year and a half was likely bunk."

This does not surprise me in the least. Even in looking almost exclusively at recent polls regarding such things as economic recovery, the jobless rate, health care and foreign policy one would have to be extraordinarily dim to believe that anything over a 50% approval rate for anything that's happening is remotely feasible.

Not to suggest that conservatives are much better. I'll give it maybe a month before a similar story emerges about how the RNC pollsters are stacking the deck in their own favor.

This was, to my knowledge, started by Nate Silver's fivethirtyeight.com, another 'liberal' website. It's mostly about political polls and numbercrunching.

This now explains why the KOS polls were always so opposite of all of the other major polls. Amazing!

Now I have to go back through my threads to find the countless references to KOS stats to back up an under inflated arguments to support Obama.

This should be fun.

Even more amusing now is that KOS wants to sue their pollster in an effort to cover their rear ends. Any chance that KOS gave guidance to them through all these years? Did anyone ever question why their poll results were so out of skew with other polls for years!!??

Classic!

Of course others will try to defend KOS by pointing fingers at the flaws of other polls.....

Damn, they had better push through an amnesty bill for illegals with provisions that will allow them to vote. This should be the democratic party and President's top priority.

They can still win elections and retain a slim majority by doing this.

Polls are irrelevant on any site affiliated with any political party.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it comes out the DailyKos actually requested certain results beforehand for these polls. That's how the human caused climate change scientists have been operating.

R2K polls have long been skewed heavily in favor of the liberal/progressive/democrat agenda, whose suuporters and advocates largely make up the R2K "book" of clients.

Their polling has gotten so far out of line with more legitimate pollsters such as RealClearPolitics, Rasmussen and Quinnipiac, that even their biggest clients must now abdicate to try to save what's left of their reputations in light of the undeniable shift of the middle away from socialist policies.

Kos and others had no choice but to point the fingere at some scapegoat: "It's not our fault, they lied to us," when any objective comparison made this obvious to everyone else.

One question is "who will step up" to fill in the gap for Kos, et al, and give them the "data" they need to support their otherwise unchanged positions.

Note that despite the admitted complete absence of a credible "source" for their daily proselytizing, Kos and the lib press DO NOT change their own positions.

Sort of betrays the REAL story: "Here's what we believe, give us some polling numbers to support it." When R2K no longer could find them with skewed polls, they simply made them up to "keep the customers satisfied."

If Kos insists on pursuing the lawsuit (he won't), R2K's best defense will just be to expose the "marching orders" they've been given -- they'd have nothing left to lose, and a lot to gain from a restoration of credibility (as if they ever had ANY).

NO! Really??? Liberals lying to support some out-moded agenda??? Say it ain't so!

The gloobal warming scam anyone? This isn't even news to those of us who have been paying attention for the past few years - more of a confirmation of what most of us have known all along. Ok, well... maybe it IS news to the dumb liberals that believe anything handed down from their alters of ultra-biased media.

It was really pretty obvious to anyone watching RCP numbers; assumed they were at least skewing their sample ratios.

Gallup, Zogby, etc are a bit more sophisticated and collude with papers to drive a news cycle.
