I've decided to opt out of this thread. It's too bizarre and without reason.

You guys have fun!

I think you guys are reading too much MSM.... this isn't such a big issue to other countries... you guys are getting it 24/7 from CNN and most other media... And true to form it's being reflected here. End of the world??? No... too much CNN??? Yes.

The need to make 1,500 threads on this issue is overkill... I know this isn't a good situation but can't we keep this to a minimal amount of threads?

This is ridiculous,
the Gulf needs evacuated and the whole area within the gulf area sealed,

there will surely be the technology to stop this meeting the Atlantic currents?

This is a Global disater, it could be the catalyst for an extinction level event. We all need to enclose the gulf.

Indeed... seal off the putrid GoM waters from contaminating the rest of the Carribbean Sea and North Atlantic Gulf Stream water current, which helps keep Europe from being a Siberia zone.

the 2 open spaces are between the Florida Keys- and Cuba
then from Cuba to the Yucatan... see this off site graphic map of the GOM continental Shelf:

www.marketoracle.co.uk...

630x440 $ at 66.570 bytes

i ain't got the time or motivation to draw in the 'walls' that create a barrier which would contain all the GoM body of water (66 quadrillion gallons)
and allow the busted well & seafloor to make the body of water into a 50% hydrocarbon-sea-of-Mexico...

do it for yourself... the Dubai engineers created islands in the sea--- why couldn't we contain the former Gulf ? and then skim off the oil & refine it from the oily waters itself...without the need of hundreds of wells?

Maybe you SHOULD take the time to draw the walls and take note of the depth they would have to be. Also calculate the forces the currents will have on the walls, and then can an engineering estimate of the feasibility and cost. Please get back to us with what you are told. In my opinion? If the people you ask don't laugh you out of the office, they will have an IMMENSE amount of self control....

Why do people get so visibly angry when their prophecies of doom are shown to be not based on sound, reasonable evidence?

Shouldnt you be HAPPY that your worst case scenario didnt play out?

Or is this really about feeding your ego, and youre angry that someone dared call you out on it?

Any number of things might happen. This is a first & like all firsts no one was ready for it. How do you get ready for something like this? I can't speak for anyone else, but I do believe things are happening that we aren't being told about. How do we force TPTB to tell truth? It obviously isn't in their nature Being pissed is reasonable response. Our world is taking a hit from which it may never recover & I'm mad as hell. I also know a more effective response is to use the brains we are lucky to have & plan what we, as individuals & communities, intend to do knowing we're on our own. If you have family or friends along the Gulf, tell them to be ready to leave at a moments notice...or now. Now is good.

I share your anger, frustration, & feelings of helplessness...but we aren't helpless. And we are dependent on others to think for us. I wish I had all the answers, but at the moment I don't think we really even know what the question is. So. Thoughts? Ideas? I'm open to listening. Maybe we can both find a path that makes sense.

Keep your ridicule reply handy... because soon the plan will be to contain the GoM...
perhaps by a squadron of super tankers with booms & skimmers & oil-water separators stationed in & above the critical underwater paths & valleys which the currents flow.

with the ultimate goal of a static & solid wall being constructed, a wall to match the Great Wall of China, but not for keeping out the enimies... rather keeping in the ever increasing hydrocarbons within the GoM

from spoiling/disintegrating the North Atlantic water conveyor.

~cheers~

How long is soon?

I'll check back in another month ..

.. and you were oh so sure of this happening.

Originally posted by unityemissions... last year it was swine flu. People were hysterical and said the exact same things as you are.

trying to compare a NON-EVENT like the swine flu, with the MEGA DISASTER thats now occurring in the gulf is a step below braindead. you really need to review your thinking on this, cuz its totally divorced from reality.

there are now several dozen people who are *boldly* speaking out the truth. its not conspiracy theorists, and its not fear mongering. i think people resort to this idiotic type of rhetoric are people who cannot handle the truth, and dont know how to deal with it in any meaningful way except to attack those who are brave enough to tell the public.

i'd say that 90% of the people i know are CLUELESS as to whats happening in the gulf. just total denial.

the poisons in the gulf are in the air, and people are breathing them - oil, neurotoxins, methane, hydrogen sulfide, etc. is it being "hysterical" to try to warn the clueless about what these poisons are going to do to them, their children, their familes, friends? i think not.

if its all too much to handles, perhaps you should opt out of the thread.

Perhaps a more complete quote of that post would be a more accurate representation of what I was saying:

Okay first off, I see that you are stating some absolutes, then asking questions. That's pretty bizarre. Listen, last year it was swine flu. People were hysterical and said the exact same things as you are. That next year the world would be completely different. The year before it was the financial crisis and people said the same thing. I'm just saying, try to keep it real.

Nobody knows what the world will be like next year. Nobody. I think it's pretty clear that areas around the GOM that rely on the fishing industry will be devastated. I think it's pretty clear this will impact our economy in a negative way. I don't know to what degree. I don't know what measures will be taken in the meantime, and what innovations will be thought up. Nobody does.

Now, what is idiotic about this post, exactly??

I test in the gifted range.

Cheers!
