Funny that. I grew up in Yorkshire! Like I said, people are already reporting illness, hurricane season just started, its forecasted to be a very active one too. Imagine a Katrina like hurricane now. I think the idea of this whole thing is not to encourage people to evacuate but to make plans before hand so that they are not relying on Govt. agencies who at best are poor planners, at worst, brutal, inconsiderate and ill prepared to deal with this. Not everyone has the money or the connections to pick up and move up North. Also, there may come a time when people are forced out.

I'm in the more civilized part of England *grins*.

Look, Floridans are some of the best prepared people there are. I remember a few close calls growing up, dad boarding up the house, us getting out of school. Generally they are ready with their little bug out kit. That habit has stayed with me, I am prepared no matter where I live. My friends laugh at me when I show them my BoB. It's just something that has stayed with me, to be ready for anything. And I am always telling people ot be ready, because frankly you never know!

That being said however. ATS has millions of users ( millions ain't it?), in any case a lot. Not everyone has had years in the "conspiracy" world in order to seperate the wheat from the chaff, do you want to be responsible for some schmuck moving his family up north, giving up jobs and homes and friends ect; for something that is being played up on ATS for the sheer entertainment of most of it's users?

Make no mistake, ATS IS entertainment. Sure there is the occasional nugget of truth amongst the alien anal probes and NWO reptiles, but they are far and few in between.

It's irresponsible and immoral, in my opinion, on a public forum, to extole people to evacuate.

But hey that's just my opinion, and we all know about those.

A lot of people *HAD good hearts. Many of these people took in New Orleans residents, only to be robbed blind, raped or out-right murdered. I saw some statistics that said 80% of people who took in residents from New Orleans after Katrina (without knowing them first), had negative experiences with the families that were taken in. I think a lot of people would now have a bad taste in their mouths for taking in people now, not realizing that their experiences are probably related to animals of New Orleans. It's too bad that some heathens from New Orleans may have ruined it for sincere people who might need the same charity down the road.

Also, the towns that received refugees experienced sky-rocketing crime levels. For instance, in Houston the evacuees totaled less than 10 percent of the population, yet the murder rate alone jumped up over 21 percent and this is within the first two months. As time went on, the crime rate got even worse. By February, a little over four months after receiving the refugees, around 90 percent of all murders on the South West Side of Houston (where a lot of the evacuees settled) were committed or suspected to be committed by the refugees.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing played out in almost all cities that took a sizable number of evacuees. Sadly, New Orleans' heathens may have screwed the pooch for people's generosity. I could almost guarantee that many of those people who took New Orleans residents in, would not do it again. There were so many stories coming out about families being robbed, raped and murdered for simply trying to help someone out.
